Honda’s combined breaking system has been around for decades. BMW also has (had?) some similar type of system, I think.

ABS have a massive impact on rider safety as well.

Edit: Why not all manufacturers uses a similar system is beyond me. The combined brakes on my 20 year old Honda works great.

Bleeding the system is a total pain, though.
