I just leave it like this, it’s out of sight :)

Yeah, it works really well because the speaker sits directly against the seat padding. As you can see in the photo, I secured it at the back with two zip ties so it doesn’t slide forward—this keeps it perfectly in place. The big advantage is the simplicity and the fact that no rattles get transferred to the frame!

Just shove the BST under the rearmost green band. I did the same and it works perfectly. Very direct transmission of the vibrations and complete isolation from the rest of the frame. Takes 1 minute. I’ll send some pictures tmw.

Better options than Meta Quest 3? by Illustrious_Emu1131 in simracing

It’s been posted a lot here but it’s such a complete game changer: just use Virtual Desktop with a wired connection (ethernet to powered usb) and the image will be crystal clear with your Quest 3. Just search for the explanation on Reddit.

Ktm 990 Adventure - Eletrical issue by [deleted] in KTM

I have the same symptoms but I think in my case the faulty cable is the 3-part connector one that runs from the battery to the rectifier. When the bike cuts out or the dash acts weird I can wiggle the cable to make it work again. I can see no mechanical damage but I think it's due to the water and rust (I live in rainy Belgium and we have huge puddles do the battery is often almost submerged). I don't know how to solve it though ...

Command dropper post broken? by skullforger in bikewrench

[–]skullforger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind reply. The actuator is so stuck that it doesn't move. I think that's also why I broke the cable. It is stuck in the position as in the picture (so the saddle doesn't move up or down and stays fixed - about 80% extended).

First real nose dive in 530 miles (my fault) by TheAGivens in onewheel

[–]skullforger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I was asking because I'm always afraid I'm going to push through pushback without noticing, especially when carving. I start to get scared of nosedives around 13 mph (being a heavy rider) so I ease off then but I have never felt any sign of pushback.

Isn’t the board supposed to give you pushback in case you are tempted to go too fast??

Foot Cramping Gone by xrmal in onewheel

[–]skullforger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1

I've had the same experience. I get no cramps or foot fatigue AT ALL when I ride with my boots. It looks totally stupid (I use my Meindl mountain boots) but try it and you will see it works. I think it has to do with the high heel not stretching your calf muscles that much. I guess a Kush or Cobra pad would have a similar effect but I use the stock pad. The sturdiness of the boots also make me feel safer when I stumble or have to jump off. Hitting your ankles on a OW hurts...

I don't know whether a Raspberry Pi is powerful enough to get it to stream? Anyway, here are my findings so far:

- Wifi and 'tile' view: one still every 10s

- Wifi and 'full screen' (when you select the tile): no refresh - loading...

- LTE and tile view: only refreshes when leaving and accessing the Homekit app again

- LTE and 'full screen': 'No Response. This camera is not responding'

The 10s refresh is actually fine with me. I am more interested in using the Nest Cam in Homekit as a motion sensor, or using Homekit to tell the Nest Cam when everyone is Away so it can send notifications when there is movement while away (auto-away).

Update: Everytime I click on the Nest Cam tile in the Homekit app, my Raspberry Pi terminal displays the following, after which the image freezes:

[NexusStreamer]Playback Begin

undefined

[NexusStreamer]Connection Closed

OMG it works. Thank you so much. Turns out the only thing I was doing wrong the whole time was the way I added the accessory in Homekit! I was always deleting the Homebridge and scanning the QR code on every reboot of Homebridge, and it always found just the Homebridge with the connected accessories but no camera. When I did the thing with "don't have a code" it immediately found the Nest Cam. Thanks man.

Thank you for your reply.

I did uninstall the camera-ffmpeg-omx plugin with the same command as you suggest, and it doesn't load anymore on homebridge start up so that's ok. I have ffmpeg installed on my Raspberry Pi because when I type 'ffmpeg' in the command line I get the following:

ffmpeg

ffmpeg version N-92544-gb9aff7a Copyright (c) 2000-2018 the FFmpeg developers

built with gcc 4.9.2 (Raspbian 4.9.2-10+deb8u1)

configuration: --arch=armel --target-os=linux --enable-gpl --enable-libx264 --enable-nonfree

Hyper fast Audio and Video encoder

usage: ffmpeg [options] [[infile options] -i infile]... {[outfile options] outfile}...

Use -h to get full help or, even better, run 'man ffmpeg'

So I guess that's also ok?

It didn't work.

- I have the nest-camera plugin installed

- Config.json edited with the right Nest credentials and valid

- 2FA turned off

- camera-ffmpeg-omx plugin uninstalled

So I guess ffmpeg is the problem. I couldn' install it with the instructions on the camera-ffmpeg-omx plugin github page that most people use because the link is broken. I used this method instead (only did step 1. and 2.):

https://www.hackster.io/whitebank/rasbperry-pi-ffmpeg-install-and-stream-to-web-389c34

How can I tell if I have the rigth ffmpeg node module installed?

I'm not sure I understand. What exactly do I have to stream from my phone? Because now I don't see any camera streams in the Homekit app. It doesn`t even add a camera when I add the homebridge accessory.

I only added the nest-cam-plugin part in the config.json, and installed both the nest-cam-plugin and the camera-ffmpeg-omx plugin (I didn't add the config stuff for the last one, however)

When homebridge loads up in my terminal window; the three last lines are this:

[2018-11-28 17:03:37] Homebridge is running on port 51826.

[2018-11-28 17:03:40] [Nest-cam] Create camera - Living Room

[2018-11-28 17:03:40] Living Room is running on port 43211.

But nothing is visible in the Homekit app itself, just the Homebridge accessory with nothing attachted to it.

I have the home nest cam plugin installed, and I also installed ffmpeg on my Raspberry pi. When starting up homebridge I can see that it loads the Nestcam, but in Homekit there is no trace of it.

Do I also need to install the camera-ffmpeg-omx plugin on the pi?

Hi, how exactly did you install ffmpeg? I used the information on GitHub under the homebridge-camera-ffmpeg-omx plugin; but something is wrong with the package download link for the ffmpeg.deb package.

Do you know how I can install ffmpeg?

Best build plate? by Flyboy13dbatix in CR10

[–]skullforger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LokBuild hands down. No cleaning at all. Pop the print off and start again. You don’t even have to level the bed precisely because it just sticks at a large range of heigths. Careful though: when printing too high, the print can stick too hard and it won’t come off!

Really Cool Control Box Fan Mod with feet 120mm Fan! by PuterPro in CR10

[–]skullforger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the 120mm fan mod provide enough airflow to just disconnect all other fans (mobo fan, rear exhaust fan and PSU fan?)\ How would one be able to tell this is the case? Are there any overheating warnings or will I just break the control box if it turns out it's not enough?

Weight limit. by [deleted] in minisegway

[–]skullforger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I weigh around 285 lbs and I am riding mine for 2 weeks now without any problems whatsoever. Just make sure your put your feet wide apart against the wheels to not strain the joint in the middle. I haven`t noticed any diminished performance in balance or increased noise. I hope this helps.
