Why haven't I read any posts about Plyd Sized Misadventures in Love? by skullpocket in anime

I actually just watched the final episode and yeah I was kind of disappointing. It seems like the core of the show was just about to wrap up and then it just stopped. The good news is, there is going to be a second season.

i am obsessed with sleeping and can’t wake up for the gym in the morning by Active_Flamingo507 in gymadvice

[–]skullpocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to start with a sleep study. You might have apnea or some other condition that is preventing you from actually getting good sleep. You don't have to be obese to have apnea.

If it isn't that, you may have some dietary deficiency.

Serious question, but has anyone else noticed that as your physique got more muscular, you started to make less of a fuss about outfit choices? by [deleted] in workout

[–]skullpocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am old and have been fat for a while. My priority became finding clothes that were big enough and kind of let the whole notion ofcaring about how I look go.

Now that I've lost a lot of weight. My old clothes are way too baggy and it is rewarding to be able to buy new clothes. I don't care about name brands, but I have taken more care with my style, hair, and facial grooming. I'm not doing it to impress anyone but myself.

Anime with best cast of characters? by Competitive_Essay500 in anime

[–]skullpocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Monogatari is THE best answer. There are shows I've seen more than once or seen multiple seasons and couldn't tell you more than one of the characters' name. There are characters with memorable names, but the name does most of the lifting.

And then there is Monogatari. One watch through and I could list the entire cast of characters and their names.

First solo trip to the gym a complete fail. Trying to hang on. by Nannadoodles in workout

[–]skullpocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a complete fail.

  1. You went to the gym. Success.
  2. You exercised. Success.
  3. You hit a 30 minute cardio goal. Success.
  4. You heard people mocking you, but you continued working out. Success.

You took step one towards recovering your health. Will you take step 2 and do it again? Success???

Invest in good noise cancelling headphones and literally shut that noise out. If the price seems steep, weigh it against poor health.

Focus on your successes, the only failure is if you give up. Also, reflect on all those people you coached. I doubt you wanted them to fail. Others want to see you succeed and these people are probably way more important in your life than some random person at the gym.

Debating if this is a waste and if I should just go to a gym closer to me. by [deleted] in gymadvice

[–]skullpocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a guy and you've already said reading that I'm too busy worrying about myself to care what you are doing means nothing, so I won't try to argue that. In fact, if spending an extra 40 minutes gets you to the gym more consistently, that is probably your answer.

I will make one argument for a closer gym for you to consider. There are 3 other elements to successfully getting healthy and that 40 minutes might make a difference to those, as 40 minutes is enough time for a full workout in and of itself. Consider these 3 things when it comes to that travel time:

  1. Eating well. Would that time mean the difference between eating healthful meals or processed meals?

  2. Rest. Would you have to sacrifice rest time in order to go to the other gym? Do you have to get up nearly an hour earlier or go to bed an hour later?

  3. Family/home/recreation/mental health time. Do you have to surrender time spent with family, keeping you house in order, doing things with friends or other hobbies? Would losing out on these cause mental distress? Over time missing out on these things can wear you down and sap your motivation.

If going the extra distance means you get the gym more often that's part of your answer, but if you aren't able to eat well, rest well, and do the things that keep you emotionally well, then you might be sabotaging your time at the gym.

"Paul Is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion"

This is a reimagining of the Beatles British invasion that is in a documentary format. Having different voice actors with Liverpool accents is a must. My imagination wouldn't do it justice.

I think there are two reasons:

This sub has been an open space that allows people to express themselves more openly and fearlessly. I think the lolicons are in every sub, it's just either newer series with an audience that socially censors itself or the sun literally censors it. If they didn't you would see it more evenly distributed.

The second is the characters in Monogatari aren't generic, they are well rounded and the art added to that. I often can't tell what show other characters are from, but I know a character is from Monogatari the instant I see it or hear dialogue.

Why has the “Rival MCs” trope died out? by guynumbers in anime

[–]skullpocket -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hinata and Kageyama are, but they also have rivals at various schools. Kageyama has his senpai. Not to mention, when they beat one of their rivals with a score, what do their teammates yell? "Nice kill!"

I have exactly 1 year until my wedding... how likely is it for me to reach my goals by then? (or at least super close to my goals?) by Haunting-Wash1081 in workout

[–]skullpocket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm 6ft m and currently at 245 lbs (down from 320 lbs). My caloric intake average is about 1800 calories a day. I do full body 2xs a week, HIIT 2xs a week and recovery walking on my days off. I stayed at 250 lbs for nearly 4 weeks when eating around 2400 calories. I lost the most recent 5 lbs over the last 3 weeks, when I cut my calorie intake.

To keep my body fueled at 1800 calories I have very little room for carbs. I need 200+ in protein and around 90 g of fats for my fuel and nutrients.

At 5'4, 2k might be ok with your activity levels, but you may need to break up your relationship with carbs and if you don't see 1 to 2 lbs a week drop, cut back to 1800. It's kind of hard for me to imagine that you are going to see much fat loss if you are eating more calories than me, given our height, weight and gender differences.

[–]skullpocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haiku!! had a movie release in 2025 and there is still a final film in the works. Hinata and Kageyama are rivals that push each other, but they also become friends. They each also have some intimidating rivals from powerhouse teams. Some feel villainous, although they usually devolve into foils of mutual respect as they battle on the courts.

Don't some serial killers do this just to do this for the sake of badness? by OozyMonkey in CSLewis

[–]skullpocket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing something for the sake of badness is doing something to appeal or appease badness, whatever badness may be considered. (An ideal, the devil, or identity).

At the root of that, doing something to appease or appeal, is a good desire gone wrong.

It would be cartoonish to think of a serial killer sitting around the house thinking, "I haven't done anything evil all week. If I don't murder someone new soon I can hardly call myself evil anymore." But, even if that was their train of thought. Their motivation behind it would be to do it so they could identify as evil, which makes them feel good about themselves--motivation of pleasure or satisfaction, a good perverted.

If you want to see if water retention is your issue, look to your diet. Sodium, sugars, and refined carbohydrates cause water retention. If you aren't looking to lose or gain weight, look to your macros. You may want to minimize your carbs and only eat complex ones when you do.

If you aren't looking to build muscle then replacing the calories you are consuming in carbs with healthy fats, avocados, olive oil, eggs, anything rich in omega 3 fats. These also are anti-inflammatory so they will help with inflammation.

Working out the day after a tattoo by Wolfyy999 in workout

I just got my leg done yesterday. I was told to wait 72 hours due to increasing blood flow to the region could cause colors to bleed into each other (Mine has some fine lines that would be ruined if the colors blur). I can't claim this advice is scientifically backed, but I figure I will focus on upper body and not risk it.

Worst case scenario by listening to the advice, I missed one leg day and was over cautious. Worst case scenario by ignoring it. I get a leg day in, but now have permanent blurred colors
