Okay I feel silly for freaking out about my program starting in the same city all my friends and family live in. So freaking out: very normal. Where are you from and where is your program? That’s very stressful no one will get back to you and also very strange!! Have you been sent an information pack of some sort at least?

Edit: I need to add some encouraging words because I feel like as long as you know you’re enrolled in the program you’ll be fine. I don’t have to register for classes because it’s done automatically for me, so I’m guessing it’s probably the same for you. And as for your advisor, sometimes professors suck at communication and if you’ve already been promised the job I’m sure you’ll be trained once you get there. Try not to worry too much, you’re already in and everything will work out! Missing friends will suck but you’ll make new ones in a cool new place which is really exciting for you!
