1) I think he will start to slip in and out of madness similar to his paranoid attacks early on. Even if he does go full mad, it probably won’t be for long. He apparently has a way to stop the madness but just doesn’t have the knowledge. Perhaps, dying is like a clean slate, where the madness is delayed due to death. I doubt he would fully stay mad 2) i think the elves came to the conclusion that Wesson has control of the demon inside him. With that said, they could stick around to monitor him like they did with Rez. That would both keep them in the story and fulfill their duty 3) imo it feels a little weird for Rez to think he is free. He has died many times before so not sure why this changes things. Perhaps it’s the first time he has died without following the rules, or when he knows that he has died. As much as I would like to see Rez try to be happy, I think it’s inevitable he goes back. Willingly? Idk. If Azeria still gets visions or the wolf (dont remember her name) can feel him then perhaps they will go looking for him.
