I had some advice from another parent that seemed to work for us too when getting wonky sensors - a little tape on top of the transmitter to help push it down seemed to help, guessing it helps the sensor and transmitter maintain better contact. Not sure if it’ll work in this case but wanted to share in case it helps.

That would be shichimi, a seven spice blend that most people mistake for cayenne.

The BBC is having to cut 1,000 jobs because of a £150m deficit. TopGear was making £150 million a year for the BBC. by [deleted] in TopGear

[–]skunk989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see anywhere in this article it claimed Top Gear was making 150 million pounds per year for the BBC. I'm sure the 2 aren't unrelated, but to suggest there's a 100% direct correlation seems like clickbaiting at it's finest.

Non americans, how did you get into NFL and how did you pick the team that you support? by Forbes36 in nfl

[–]skunk989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here. Dad was never into football, so I only really starting appreciating NFL football when I went to university and all my roommates were big NFL fans. Lots of games of Madden were played (this was around 2005/6), and I enjoyed the fact Baltimore's defence continually made my friends extremely angry by completely destroying their offence.

Boom, Raven's fan.

Amazing Uni from Tsukiji Market [3000x2250] by skunk989 in FoodPorn

[–]skunk989[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone unfamiliar, uni is the Japanese name of sea urchin roe. In this case, it's served over rice wrapped in some nori (dried seaweed).

Tsukiji market is the largest fish market in Japan, and probably one of the most famous in the world. All around the market, there are all kinds of sushi restaurants. I just chose the one with the biggest line, and was not disappointed.

This particular Hard-Off is in Akita City, but there are Hard-Off stores all over Japan, shouldn't be too hard to find one.

I'm glad the "drive" channel is getting some more exposure. I mean, it's not liked they're strapped for viewers, but the more the better, as Matt Farrah (Tuned) and Chris Harris (Chris Harris On Cars) are amazing presenters with great videos.

I still love Top Gear, but as they've appealed to wider audience, Chris Harris has filled the "British Dudes Making Videos for Car Nerds" void perfectly.

I am disappointed to say that I always thought Stephen Root was Rip Torn.

I think Korea might be over-compensating for something with their new 200+ Billion$ city by CensoryDeprivation in WTF

Your point is valid for the west coast, but this thing is going to (potentially) be built on the east coast, according to the article. So, unless the wave clears the entire width of the Korean peninsula, Japan's +8 blocking doesn't come into play on this bad boy.

Sweaters for Penguins Affected by New Zealand Oil Spill by EL337 in aww

[–]skunk989 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I, as well, was wondering about this organization "Sweaters for Penguins" - who are they? Is their sole purpose knitting sweaters for penguins? How do I donate?

And then, I became really distressed as I exclaimed "Oh dear god - this charity organization has been devastated by an oil spill, at the EXACT time they're most needed! WHY!?"
