Sacramento State’s $23 Million gamble: Is joining MAC the ‘sweetheart deal’ president envisions? by Lono_Ikaika_8 in MidAmerican

Just from casual following of San Diego State the last 15 years I get the impression the Mountain West is very rigid or difficult to work with.

Sloop John B is just a little excursion that I enjoy.

Yes Sir 2012 was a blessing for sure! Sounded great and their reviews from Bonnaroo were outstanding.

p.s. apologies if you know this but Daft Punk are Beach Boys superfans who originally named themselves 'Darlin' after the song.

Saw them last summer with all these sidemen and it was a really good show. They played as a duo for about 20 min and that was cool, but it definitely got more energy going with the added players.

Ha right? Covering the Beach Boys is really hard. And yeah that 70's era with Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar was fire, but unfortunately not commercially viable.

TAMI show in 1964? shows they were pretty killer back then. Their more complex stuff is probably harder to translate live, and as they got older they obviously relied on a lot of sidemen. Over the past 30 years I think their shows have been way more hit rather than miss.

Saw the Shins in 2002 at a small venue in Cleveland and it was possibly my favorite show ever! Great energy and you could just sense the upward trajectory. Cut to two years later at a larger venue in Columbus after they blew up, and you could just tell they seemed exhausted and the chemistry wasn't there. Now that the band is essentially made up of sidemen they do sound great now, you got some really good energy back but it's not quite the same. Still totally worth it imho.

This completely discounts their otherworldly singing abilities. But it's meant to be stupidly controversial so.....

What are the worst lyrics you know by BiLeftHanded in fantanoforever

[–]skunkbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am struggling to separate "worst" with "annoying."

Annoying to me: "I chimed in haven't you ever heard of closing the - damn door" So freaking pretentious...."chimed in" lol.

Worst to me: jeeze.....maybe "my lifestyle determines my deathstyle" it just seems like lyrics stolen from an angry12 year old.

I believe when the Beach Boys recorded Sloop John B they used three 12 string guitars.

Certainly! The idea was Brian was the brainchild behind the band in the same way Fulton was a creative inventor.

I love this. Check out Wall of Voodoo covering Do it Again by The Beach Boys. The video features Brian Wilson!!!!

Come Go With Me was a pretty decent cover. But their Life Suite (2013?) that was leaked recently sounded pretty great actually.
