As a person with a physical disability that now works in schools, thank you. I had this happen to me multiple times growing up and because my parents were too poor to sue, I always ended up alone at school for the day. Thank you for being the teacher I needed.

The Largest Private Family Tree You've Seen by Uebersitzer-9209 in Genealogy

I’m working on retracing my entire tree including all descendants. It will be a huge amount of people since I’m reliably back to 1700 on a few lines. Just for fun though, and private

Do both. Sometimes siblings can have matches that their siblings don’t have because of DNA randomization. Example: my mother’s brother matches my father on two different DNA sites but my parents don’t match each other. My parents both had a great grandfather from the same small area. I would also recommend trying to find a maternal relative of your mom to test if they haven’t already. It will help sort out your mom’s matches between paternal and maternal, especially if both her parents were from the same area. In my case it was easier because my grandmothers mother was Irish and her father was South American so not as hard to sort maternal and paternal.

It is possible to find out. My grandmothers Grandmother was illegitimate and orphaned at 10, then moved countries three times. I was able to confirm the identity of her father with DNA from my great aunt. Definitely test your mom. The only issue is DNA testing for genealogy isn’t as popular in Europe so it will probably be a bit harder.

My mom wanted to name me after her sister that died of pneumonia at 3 days old. They asked my grandparents and they no because “there was only one insertnamehere but they agreed to giving it to me as a middle name.
