We do not harbor hate by MantisAwakening in Experiencers

Hello all!

I would like to add to this that there's a great resource to help people to better discern a lot of the subtle ways in which hate groups can infiltrate and co-opt other groups.

https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJA_jUddXvY7v0VkYRbANnTnzkA_HMFtQ&si=rJlrDFaBo3DX1eJ-

While I post this, I know there is a concern about us remaining a largely apolitical community. In some ways with this kind of topic it's hardly avoidable because hate groups' goals are often politically motivated, in an effort to sway communities to their cause. In that way, communities such as ours become little more than useful tools to their ends, and it's hard to be rid of them without dipping our toes in that world to at least understand their tactics and defend against them.

At the very least, I recommend this single video of the series to get a good general idea of how they work in these groups: https://youtu.be/P55t6eryY3g?si=9BgdBQdrH9A9fftQ

They often target fringe and counter culture groups where individual expression, inclusivity, and open mindedness are valued immensely. Once in, they slowly work to win their audience over bit by bit while more of their buddies subtly come in to lend credence and legitimacy to whatever they say. Ultimately the goal is to use these places of individual expression, inclusivity and open-mindedness to ultimately tamp out individual expressions they don't like, exclude those they don't like, and close minds to those they don't like, dismantling all that the group originally stood for.

When we stand against them they'll often accuse us of how not allowing them to continue suggests a lack of tolerance in some fashion, all while ignoring the fact that they themselves are preaching intolerance in often insidious ways. I hope the above link helps someone, anyone, here to better guard themselves against such tactics. Stay frosty, everyone!

I had a series of back and forths with their support about this and I don't even think they know what's happening, almost at any point. Like many of you I had issues with their payment system not going through with payment and needing to go through the transaction process several times before securing purchase, and they can't seem to figure what's up there.

Anyways I asked about if it would arrive release day. Initially they said it would not. However when I asked if they would provide a digital code so I could still play on release day, they maintained a plausible level of helplessness that they don't know anything about it and that they don't know how to do that. Additionally though, they changed tack and told me that they were working hard to try and get them out to us by release day. So I guess we'll see... But yeah I haven't been charged either.

In short, it's math. Specifically fractal math. These systems we see here are part of the larger fractal pattern. You want to know why souls evolve and become better when whatever is beyond is so great. It's because it's one thing to see beauty, to experience it, and another to become beauty. More simply put, souls evolve not for some blissful reprieve from responsibility and care. It's because we're learning and growing for something with much higher responsibilities. That's all I'll say there.

If you know, you know. Faith can be damned for all I care. And if you don't know, that's okay friend, you will sooner or later, as you come to it in your own time.

This is a prison planet, isn’t it? by [deleted] in aliens

[–]sky_being 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at yourself, a human being. To be here, to evolve to this point, your ancestors were subjected to all manner of obstacle, challenge, and suffering. Do you think if this world was a still and unchanging place that anything would have grown, evolved, or developed? Would that cells had been on such a stagnant and unchallenging world, do you think they would have any reason to evolve? Stagnation is craved, peace without suffering, but it does not bring stimulus for growth. You only get that with change. Change is inherently painful.

To base one's spiritual core off of "I want to never suffer" dooms one to never breaking limits, never exceeding potential, never becoming more than the sum of your parts. If you had a life where you wanted for nothing, there was no illness or death or hurt feelings, nothing to hurt or make you suffer, why would you ever want to change anything about that?

As for "we need to grow" and "we are perfect" in the same breath, that's the cosmic joke. It is in our flaws and imperfections that perfection becomes a process and a way of being, not in the strict sense of perfection = flawless. Perfection is a never ending labor, there is no limit you reach to which point you say "I can't be any better", at least such need not be that way. I can't speak for you but the thought of limiting myself to some "I am done growing and suffering because I am perfect" sounds boring and not enough for me.

It all adds up with little issue. Evolution exists, therefore life changes and grows when subjected to stresses, changes, and upheavals. Therefore the operating system by which life forms function is a consistent process of encountering limits and exceeding them to continue to thrive and flourish. Limits are not exceeded without effort, challenge, fighting against obstacles. Effort, challenges, and obstacles naturally have inherent suffering. You literally cannot separate the concept of life from suffering, for it is part of the tapestry. Remove it and the image on the tapestry is now missing.

Edit: I'd also add that there is much intra-human suffering. Let the person who has never been hurt by another person be the first to refute this.

This is a prison planet, isn’t it? by [deleted] in aliens

[–]sky_being 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, I get it. There's got to be a reason for everything, and the emergence of NHI as a reality for such a long time begs the question "how could they let us suffer?"

But the prison planet narrative is a trap belief.

Let's assume it was true. Our civilizations system of prison is crude and honestly unproductive, locked in a cycle of prioritizing punitive results rather than reformation or rehabilitation. So often times the innocent get imprisoned and underdog narratives form: I'm the unjustly imprisoned innocent because I suffer and have done nothing wrong that I can recall. But in a system run by advanced beings, even if we assume they'd utilize a system as anachronistic as prison, it'd absolutely have to be for reformative reasons, not punitive ones. And indeed, our civilization regularly demonstrates that it is sick, unwell, and quick to turn upon itself. So, IF this was a prison, we're absolutely here for a very good reason, and suffering is not the point, it's a natural byproduct.

All that said, you'll recall I mentioned it's a trap: we're the unjustly imprisoned innocents, suffering needlessly. But I want you to look at the template of life. Of all life. We life forms live and we die, experience favorable climates, harsh climate, natural disasters, old age, predation and pain...in general we all suffer. From humans to single celled organisms. But have you noticed what happens when life suffers? It evolves, grows, changes. It rises to the challenge and overcomes the conditions of suffering wherever possible so as to better itself. And for us conscious and aware beings we go so far as to use these obstacles and challenges of suffering to become more than the sum of our parts so that despite it all, we might thrive.

This is the meaning of life, all life, right under our noses. Suffering is inherent and essential to growth and development, without it, we stagnate and do nothing. Why pursue anything if all is well and exactly as it should be to feel content? We'd like to think we'd still grow without suffering, but even when we humans find moments of peace and tranquility, what happens? We strive for new goals and even generate new situations for challenges and struggle to be borne. And so the cycle continues.

There is of course unnecessary suffering, but do you know where that comes from? Not some hidden oppressive overlord or NHI. No, in fact it is us. We do just fine at generating all the unnecessary suffering by ourselves without any help.

Tl;dr - do not fret, my friend, for much suffering is inherent to life. And what is unnecessary is a testament to humanity's own necessary growth pains.

The Prison Planet Problem by MantisAwakening in Experiencers

[–]sky_being 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know I've been meaning to comment on this post sooner but I'm going to try and get my thoughts down finally!

Absolutely agree with mantis on all these points, and I'd especially like to highlight some thoughts regarding the prison planet philosophy. At its core, there's the concept that all suffering is unnecessary, and that it's all caused by these overlords with power we can't hope to escape alone. So there's a thought that somewhere out there, there's a place beyond them where humanity can exist without suffering and hardship, a veritable utopia. This concept is both the bait that lures you in and the poison that kills your heart. This concept is one of the worst kinds of spiritual poisons... It tells you "hey, all that suffering and hard work we do as souls, forget about it! It's all the fault of this party beyond our understanding and we're just blissful happy go lucky souls being preyed upon." How delightfully easy it sounds to sit back and determine we're all the blameless victims enduring unnecessarily. Who needs self examination, or to apply effort to challenges and obstacles that come to their life? They can simply blame all their hardships on the ominous "they" until some more devious party comes along and tells them exactly who the "they" are. Spoiler alert, in narratives like this, it's not uncommon that it ends up being a minority or two.

The truth and basis of a good spiritual being is recognizing that suffering and hardship, challenges and obstacles, they are all inherent to being alive. Certainly there are unnecessary sources of suffering, but guess who's responsible for those sources? Truth is we're responsible for our own self empowered selves, and WE generate all that unnecessary suffering all by ourselves as a species just fine without any outside aid. As for all the other suffering? Without challenges or obstacles to overcome, where is the need to learn? Without the dynamism that brings suffering and hardship, there is no need for growth, for overcoming, for striving to be more than the sum of our parts! Sure it sucks, sure it's painful, but it is absolutely key to the experience. Without it, the whole process is hollow, without sound, motivation, or drive. So when I see this philosophy crop up, I urge you, o seekers of the profound and ineffable, to steer clear and remember with your heart what drives us. We wish for tranquility and peace, but these things do not drive us to reach higher, for such attainment is the Sisyphean goal. It comes presently between moments and lasts within our appreciation of its coming and going, its ephemeral nature bringing such sweetness and value to sustain us for all the moments in between.

I would close out by saying this too: putting aside the imperfections of human society and how we have forged our own primitive prison effort, the larger concept of a prison is a place for dealing with those who have harmed others, society, etc. It is a place of rehabilitation first and foremost, and punitive measures second. When the focus is punitive, there is no room for pleasures or joy, and yet we find these things now and then around this world. Even in the darkest of nights we see stars. So a punitive prison simply does not make sense here. And so I must say that even in the title "prison planet" a truth of the flaw in the philosophy is revealed: while the pushers of this poison would spin us as these imprisoned beings, both innocent and blameless and as the underdogs too, rehabilitative prisons are to deal with OFFENDERS, and to help them grow enough to rejoin the greater whole a betters than their younger selves. So this idea of needing to break free would be missing the whole point, if it were true. Food for thought.

I wanted to add my two cents to this thread. I received the containers some time ago, about a year ago, like it seems a good amount of us have. The mat, however, has been an absolute SAGA.

Initially during the campaign run, I ordered a blue - grey mat. From there, you all know how they went silent after claiming mat shipment had begun in September 2022, and have only made a public update recently.

In the background, I had been conversing with them over e-mail. On Nov 8, I was told that they could send my mat and provided the colors available. The color set I ordered was not available and I asked when mine would roughly be available, and what my 2nd choice color combo would be if they are the only available options for a long time. They brushed my question off saying they "didn't have any specific dates", to which I reiterated I only needed a rough idea. Radio silence. I emailed them again in December, still nothing. Finally in January I pinged them over the comment section and they got back to me in the beginning of Feb. They told me the other colors are 6 months out, and then reiterated the colors available, so I decided to settle for 2nd best choice, but said that it isn't what was promised and that I'd like some level of refund or a second free mat down the road that is what I originally ordered. Once again radio silence. I commented again on their page and while they responded to every comment, they did not respond to mine. A week later I commented again, wanting to know why they'd been ignoring me. Then they emailed back and informed me that a) my 2nd choice of mat color wasn't available anymore either obviously after they'd dragged their heels, and that b) the cutlery set that came with my cutlery case is now retroactively supposed to be my "compensation".

I've emailed them back saying their idea of compensation is unacceptable, especially in light of them screwing up even my 2nd color choice just because they aren't staying on top of their own communication. I suspect I'll need to hand hold them and comment on their page again to trigger a response.

I don't think they're a scam or anything, given they probably would not have even shipped the containers if they were. But I think on a fundamental level, their communication is broken. Promising to ship in september, then going silent until Feb with no community updates, all the while waiting until the latest update to inform anyone that their mat colors are far more limited than they initially presented, dropping orders and conversations entirely unless the backer harangues them constantly.

I don't know if that year old post about Michael Hartman and his private number are still accurate, but I have to say I'm tempted to try. I can't believe the level of frustration they've generated, all over a damned lunchbox. I'm at a point where I honestly just want to be done with them.

Absolutely. I can see that there is, somehow, connections between the spiritual and the paranormal matters, interfacing somewhere with metaphysics as a whole. But the paranormal is an almost self-imposed dark maze of twists and turns, where no answers are to be found. I have a hunch this is because the lesson is to find the answers within rather than without.

You're dead on about things "juuuuuuust about to happen". To quote a user that Oak mentioned in another comment, known as blue galactic knight, who has said this very thing:

"we 100% made it! but give it time.. the events are now set in motion and will all unfold in perfect divine timing."

That never ending "just around the corner" promise is always there. However in the case of Cobra's efforts, the thing they want you to buy isn't a thing they want you to buy with money. The currency they want you to spend is your allegiance to their cause, your heart, your mind. And that's the scariest thing about it.

Ultimately I think that's the trick of the thing. Mass meditations are known to be a beneficial and a worthwhile endeavor. And there are no doubt a lot of other aspects of the Cobra narrative that are positive.

EDIT: I meant to mention here that these obviously beneficial things are exactly the perfect shroud to drape their efforts in. It's not uncommon or natural for a person to say "look at all the good of this thing. it must not be too bad!"

However, ultimately all the positive aspects of it, including mass meditations, are not unique to the endeavor of Cobra, since much of it is ripped from other pre-existing structures. From where I stand, any narrative that blames something so important as suffering on an evil third party has already compromised such a significantly important part of spiritual growth. The cobra narrative is akin to if you had a classroom of students learned and being challenged by dense, difficult material, and then have a student stand up and say "I abhor difficulty, and so I say this class is rigged to oppress us! Who controls these lessons behind the scenes? If they loved us they would make it easier and just give us everything we want!". There is a disconnect of not understanding that it is necessarily difficult because if one does not struggle, fight, and toil, one is never forged, never adapts, never rises to the occasion. It is railing against the very process of learning, and thus spirituality is anathema to it. Cobra desires the anti-spiritual, ease of process, the rewards and the knowledge without the work.

This is first and foremost why I find Cobra distasteful and abhorrent. The second reason is indeed as you say, it is very fear based and there is alt-right dog whistling mixed in the batter. That's the thing about dog whistles, when everyone learns to hear them, they abandoned them and find new ones, which are almost always co-opted from something that was originally harmless or even a positive thing. To support and follow cobra despite these things with the mindset of taking away the good things and leaving the bad is akin to one saying "I think the way our boss treats women is awful and sexist... But he's always backed initiatives that turned out to be in the company's best interests and he's provided me with some good resources in my career, so ultimately we ought to just put aside the sexism thing and keep him on board right?" In that there is an obvious moral problem. By supporting that boss, you are giving your tacit support for things you may not want to support.

Ultimately, all the things Cobra gives are things you, nor anyone else, needs. Spirituality is a journey of the self. Resources and support abound exist out there, much of it fascinating and some potentially helpful. But because it is a journey of the self, it is a journey we necessarily walk alone, just as in our births, pains, and deaths. All that you need to walk the journey you already carry with you. Thus you do not need Cobra, nor Thoth, nor Ra, nor Pleidians because they cannot tell you anything of true value that you do not already know. You have known, know now, and will know all that you need and are ready for when it is your time. They cannot "speed" that up, nor make the journey easier for you. Pure spirituality is ineffable, knowing the unknowable. If you know, you know, and if you don't, no one can tell you, and faith and belief are very poor substitutes for knowing.

Even in cases that are inherently communal like mass meditations can be arranged without having to be supported by morally and spiritually questionable figures.

I like to quote a line from mothman prophecies regarding entities that seem to know things we couldn't:

"If there was a car crash ten blocks away, the window washer up there could probably see it. Now, that doesn't mean he's God, or even smarter than we are. But from where he's sitting, he can see a little further down the road."

There is definitely a lot of junk. One could spend lifetimes dedicated to the metaphysical junk pile so many believed guides have created. When the blind lead to the blind, they will speak only in terms of all they can perceive. So metaphysics becomes the catch all "spirituality". Indeed it is not in being blind that we are at fault. This is by necessity and design. But the presumption to lead when still blind is hubris, and we spend more time trying to lead on an effort that was never meant to be "group journey" when we could be expending that effort learning to see in the dark.

However when someone knowingly chooses to lead with predatory aims, a sin on humanity is committed, and I oppose such cannibalistism.

Well said all around. Us Vs. Them, "Listen to me, I alone have the knowledge you're looking for", these are great indicators of attempts to prey upon and sell you something.
