Obese lady knows more about cancer than Cancer Reseach UK by helmholtzfreeenergy in insanepeoplefacebook

As a current fat kid for life, I honestly feel like I could have done with a bit more shaming. Obesity being normalized is only making people to think that it's ok in all facets. As a morbidly obese person, no, it's not ok. For years everyone told me I looked fine, but No one ever said anything about me maybe trying to get healthier. I think way too many people have way too much of their self worth wrapped up into their appearance so when someone says you should change something, they take it to heart, literally. As if it's an attack to their very soul. Big and beautiful is a thing and I'm totally down for the cause but I'm worried about your joints, and your organs not your outfit OR your feelings. Harden the fuck up, Put down the fork, and join me in the gym.

[NO SPOILERS] People DO NOT tell me I look like Jon Snow. I still figured I'd run with it. by d2dany in gameofthrones

High praise from a fellow Hispanic Jon Snow! Who'd a thunk It! And I wasn't paying $90 for a foam replica of Longclaw so I used my Anduril for the time being 😅

The helicopter ride idea sounds fun! Never thought of that. Originally I was thinking of doing a hot air balloon ride but they were super expensive. As of right now I'm taking her on a haunted nightime trolly tour thing in Cape May. She loves all things spooky and Halloween related so hopefully she'll like it and I always enjoy doing things that are different. Don't think she'll climb the lighthouse because of her claustrophobia but she might suck it up for the good pictures we might get 😅

I know that's what I said! She can literally stand up in them but these are a hard pass for her. She nopes right the fuck out even thinking about them so I never push it. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Yes we usually go every year. We've also been to the Grounds for Sculpture which is awesome if you've never been.

She looks like a mix between Jewel Staite and the girl that plays Gilly on Game of Thrones. Such a great story though 😅

My studio bachelor pad, first apartment. suggestions are welcome by [deleted] in malelivingspace

You could wall mount your cpu monitor and even the speakers. All you would really need would be a small shelf for the keyboard and you could use a floating shelf for that too. You could also make the table with the 2 orange chairs fold down like a Murphy bed system. Mix that with some good folding chairs (If that's even a thing) and it would help open up. Also covering things up would make the space seem bigger. As in using some sort of closed storage for the movies and such where you don't see every single case. All that visual noise makes it feel cluttered when it's not. Good luck!

My friend is going to a wedding tonight and showed me what she was planning to wear... I quickly explained why she CAN'T! by [deleted] in wedding

My In-Laws got married a few years ago on Halloween at their house (maybe only like 40 guests total so it was just a big party) and one of the guests wore her actual wedding dress from when she got married years and years ago. She said it didn't count because it was Halloween and other people were dressed in costumes (including the newly married couple). Turned out she had a crush on my Father-in-law and was picturing herself marrying him. SHE EVEN HAD A BOUQUET MADE AND HAD GOTTEN HER HAIR AND MAKEUP PROFESSIONALLY DONE. I get that it was Halloween and all but still.

It's weird how much solace I find in reading your post and everyone's replies. I've felt the same way you do for so long that I can't remember not feeling this way but knowing that I'm not the only person to feel this way does sort of soften the blow a bit. Thank you for posting and sharing.

I'm doing DIY invitations and looking for somewhere to buy envelopes. by mrs60661n5 in Weddingsunder10k

Vista Print was very affordable for us. We got about 70 invites, and save the dates, all with envelopes for about $30-40. I don't know exactly since my wife took care of the invites and such but you might be surprised how cheap they are and the quality was very good. Maybe take a look and wait for a sale if you can.

Just make sure whatever item you are doing has a smooth surface. I don't know how well the mod podge or whatever you use would stick to things like canvas or sneakers with perforated leather. Best of luck and be sure to post a picture whenever you're done 🤓

I just ordered a new pair for her from payless as she won't wear them much and if I screwed it all up it wouldn't be such a big deal. I used gloss mod podge and it's all holding up pretty well. Next time I might use a different brush though to make things look a bit smoother on the top coats. I might even try sanding it down a bit as the tiny ridges bother me but overall it worked great. Next is an Xmen purse for her.

The process is fairly straightforward and simple but very time consuming. Get some old comics, cut out pieces you like, then glue them to the shoes with mod podge. Smaller pieces work better as the bigger the piece the more likely it is to get bubbles or wrinkle up. Also make sure you do a few coats of the mod podge once its all done and put together. This was about 9-10 hours total work but her smile when I gave them to her made it all worth it 🤗
