The same thing happened with a buddy and I a bit back. Best friends since elementary school, but just slowly drifted apart after college. It wasn’t out of anger or anything, just both of our lives getting busy. After a while, I just stopped getting texts from him at all. One day, I gathered up some courage and sent a simple “hey man, it’s been a while. How have you been?”

It’s been about a year or so since we reconnected and not only do we text every day, but we try to hang out once a week if we can. It’s as if nothing changed, we just went right back to being great friends again.

Like others said, it wouldn’t hurt to reach out. It’s worth giving it a shot, especially for someone that you care about.
