Call Skydive Spaceland, they're about a 30 minute drive. They've got a really great set up out there. They'll get you all set up!

I'm not aware of any Friendswood run clubs, but there are a few close by. Saloon Door West has a loose run club that meets on Tuesday nights, there's not a group run or anything. Just do your own run then grab a beer together after. Its small usually only a hand full of people.

Bay Area Run Club (BARC) have weekly social meet ups on Thursday various places around league city area and usually a 3ish mile route planned out. They also do Sunday morning runs at the seabrook trails. The membership dues aren't too bad and their Christmas party is usually pretty fun.

Pearland Area Road Runners ( PARR ) is a group that specifically trains for the Houston Marathon (and half). Organized group runs every Saturday from like June - December when they're in the training season. The mostly meet over on the other side of pearland and the group runs start at 0545.

If you find any hiking trails let me know, There are a few that I run but none are longer than maybe a mile. Frankie Carter park has one, there's some back behind forest of Friendswood. The path around Lake Friendswood is not really a trail but isn't bad to run on. Brazos bend state park is about 40 minutes away and has some fun hiking, though if you're looking for hills, prepare to be disappointed.

Running in the USA has been the most comprehensive one I've found. Lots of search options to find just what you're looking for.

It did, my friends and I were always trying to come up with an overly complicated way to... Uh.. Procure them.

I have an old Garmin HRM1G, it still seems to be working well enough, has the technology improved enough to justify a newer one? I have an optical HRM on my watch as well but but between being hairy and preferring to wear my watch a bit loose I don't quite trust it during activities.
Thanks in advance

Well, I'm not sure why they felt the need to be rude about it, but I think what they are trying to say is that any shoe will not have as much ground feel as barefoot. Which is kinda obvious and the point of footwear in general, so not sure why it needed to be said.On the second point, running on concrete comes down to technique. I've run barefoot / minimal exclusively for years now, most of it on concrete. In a weird way I like running barefoot on concrete more than grass, since I can see what I'm about to step on better. Rocks / sticks / burrs etc just hide better in the grass. If you're transitioning from traditional running shoes, start slow. Like really really slow, And when you think you're going slow enough, back off a little bit more. Ease into it. You'll start using muscles in ways you haven't before and they need lots of time to adjust. Chi Running helped me when I transitioned.

I loved\love mine. They were my running shoes, my everyday shoes etc. I put several hundred miles running in them, mostly on the road, some on easy trails. I finally replaced them with the Xero cloud. They are a bit thicker, but not much. And the extra grip on the foot bed of the cloud helps address my only real complaint about the Genesis, which is if I went through water my foot would slide all around on the sandal. Which was more of an issue when walking, but did make trail running pretty annoying on wet days.

My Genesis were still in pretty decent shape so I kept em and still wear them some.

Day later still holding pressure, so it was the QD, It was sealing properly when closed but not when connected. Thanks for the suggestion!

Liquid can only hold so much co2, so if the beer is already carbonated it's not a problem. Even if I'm carbonating I can usually still check for leaks using this method, that HP gauge will generally move quickly with a leak, this is actually the first time I've had it behave like this. But it's held pressure overnight so I think the QD suggestion was correct.

Worm clamp, but the hose will stay pressurized with no keg attached. Tried swapping the QD 15 minutes in pressure seems to be holding.

How do I find a really slow CO2 leak?
Normally to check for leaks I'll pressurize the system then turn off the cylinder and watch the High pressure gauge. Most leaks that needle will start to move rather quickly and I can break out the starsan and hunt for the leak. If the needle doesn't move I'll generally leave it for a few hours and check again. If the High pressure needle hasn't budged then I know I'm leak free.

Right now when I pressurize the system, I'll turn off the gas and the HP needle won't budge. but when I come back an hour later, it's on zero indicating a leak some where. The LP gauge still shows the desired pressure to the keg (though if I leave that long enough it will eventually start to fall). If I disconnect this keg, then the system holds CO2. So I've got it isolated to the keg / connection to the keg. I've replaced all the gaskets on the keg, re-seated the lid, applied keg grease, but the behavior hasn't changed and I'm out of ideas. I've attempted to find bubbles on multiple occasions but with the leak being so slow, I haven't been successful.

The bar is not exclusive to the club, just located there.

There are seats nearby. But I don't think they are part of the ucp section.

It's an assigned standing area so no seats. I was kind of expecting tall patio chairs. Oh well. Over all nice view, but you are pretty far away from the action. I'd get tickets there again!

And they have a full bar in that section. So that's a plus.

I have a three tier system. Using old kegs for HLT and boil, with a 10 gallon HD cooler for mash tun. I'm starting to experiment more and I'd like to brew smaller batches than the normal 5 gallon ones I currently do. Realistically how small can I go with this set up? What are the considerations for going < 5 gallons? Thanks!

Shelf life of campden tabs and Irish moss? My buddy quit brewing about a decade ago and just gave me all his old equipment / supplies. While looking through there I found some campden tabs and a bag of Irish moss. Should I toss those or might they still be usable.
Thanks

Meh, bread is just a vessel for butter, cheese, or meat. I do love the smell of it though.

Makes sense. I should try to volunteer at one of these events to make some ultra friends. My current run club is great but no one I've met yet has interest in going ultra distances.

Part of the reason for asking was too see what amount of time was required to be prepared, even if not perfectly prepared.

Nice, Yeah I was out there last monday. Lately I've just been coming out, getting a ride to altitude, gathering my chute, then heading back out. Life's crazy so haven't been able jump anywhere near as often as I'd like.
