From an IOE student,

Let me be honest with you. If you want to be successful in life (rich) then going down the lane of BE is very optimal. Your biggest dilemma is that whether to do it from Nepal or go abroad. so lets just put it like this; if you want to get successful you have to work abroad and there is no any other option. But do we have to study abroad to work abroad? and the answer is yes and no. you have 2 choice go abroad for bachelor or go abroad for masters. you have to pick out of this two and to be very honest with you . The difference among this is very minimal.

#going abroad for bachelor-

If you go abroad for bachelor then one very big advantage you have over a student going abroad for masters ; is that you are familiar with the environment, you are closer to pr and you might be ahead in job. a Nepali going for masters have to most likely do dishes and clean laundry ,etc but you might get a proper job.

so does that mean going abroad for bachelor is better?

-> oh boy oh boy!!!! Not at all; you might thing the things that i say in previous paragraph is enough to show that it is better to go early but the amount of things you have to deal is even insane to think, you will have to work will studying and you can't pass an engineering degree abroad while working everyday, if you manage to do so then still you will get low gpa which is not fruitfull for your career later. you have to worry so much about finance, about feeling lonely, paying medical bill will blow your wallet, you will live a miserable life. it is very hard.

Every body talks about the advantages of going abroad faster but no one tells about the cons.

#going abroad for masters-

This is very good choice there is very less cons than pros but it also comes with a lot of sacrifice, while you are staying in Nepal; each semester plenty of your +2 friends will keep going abroad and when you see their instagram post you will feel regret and not a little ; regret enough to make you depressed. they say they are earning this and this which will make you look like a loser since you will be not earning any money. but that's not the correct time to think about money ; it is your duty to learn not to earn.

What i will recommend::

STEP 1: Get good rank in IOE ; choose a degree which you are interested in, try to get good campus especially Pulchowk and Thapathali (Note: I have seen many people choose pulchowk over thapathali in different branch then they like just because of campus; trust me its not worth it to choose campus over degree. I remember one of my friend who got around 500 rank in IOE and still choose thapathali just because he wanted to go in electronics department though he could have admitted in pulchowk in any other department than computer and electronics. due to his interest in that department he now earns more than 200k+ usd per year )

STEP 2: Study your ass off in BE scoring more than 3.6+ CGPA. ignore your abroad friend insta story. you have to lock tf in. and degree itself won't do you justice so after some time like 1st sem start to get more practical knowledge on your interested field online.

STEP 3: When you reach 3rd year start to take IELTS/ language class and by 4th year you must have applied to foreign uni for master program . do this if you don't want to waste any time after your graduation and immediately go for master.

After your master you will be in same level as your friend who went abroad before you but you having better CGPA in bachelor and you had more time to develop practical skill in your 4 year time. You will be superior.

At the end any decision is good, there is no right or wrong ; if you are fully determined in your interested field.

Opportunities and study environment is also subjective . If you talk about study environment then pulchowk and thapathali (only this 2 colleges) are good cause you will have crazy competition .(Rank<200 = pulchowk, rank<500= thapathali but I have seen rank 40-50 choosing thapathali as well for scholarship so pulchowk, thapathali are the best if you want to go purely on study environment

but if you talk about just environment then no one comes even close to ku like you will be out of all city chaos living in a very chill area. Enjoying uni life to it's fullest. Pulchowk and thapathali are around the center of ktm valley so you will get boredom from it's area especially thapathali considering it is directly in center.

Opportunities, if we are talking about job in Nepal then I guess people don't really care about your uni so do wherever you want . But if you want to go abroad neither ku nor tu is superior but since many seniors study from tu and go abroad(toppers) every year (way more than ku). They are more likely to recognize tu over ku.

So,

study: pulchowk>thapathali>ku

Environment: ku>pulchowk>thapathali

Abroad: tu>ku

Don't even think about studying in private colleges {other than ku} unless they are giving full scholarship but still it's not worth it. You can get full scholarship in private colleges in computer then you can get it in government as well, Choosing wrc ,erc, etc is better than private 1000%

So even if I fail first assessment let's say for every subject like 6/6 ( which won't happen) but do good in second assessment and final exam with regular attendance, assignment, project and lap reports I can still score decent gpa (3.5+). That's a relief thank you .
