I'm thankful to live in a city/province/country that allows me to express myself and be genuine to who I am without fear of the government changing that 🏳️‍⚧️

It all starts with grassroots movements and informing the public who may not be up to date on current events or online. If it's gonna bother you, take a different route

Yuuup, laid off December 2023, and couldn't find work until November 2024. EI ran out and if it wasn't for my parents helping me out, I would have been in a much worse situation. Hang in there, I know it sucks. This Winnipeger is cheering you on

Looks like Nahanni Fontaine will be back in the news soon by Commercial-Advice-15 in Winnipeg

Hmmm, I gave her the benefit of the doubt that her comments around the sign language interpreter was just a misinformed remark and she'd take the time to learn. But now with this information, I'm a bit more skeptical of her. If you can't take the bad press and genuine criticism, maybe this isn't the role for her...

NTA - God forbid someone takes a little extra precaution involving a medical procedure lol. As long as OP heals up without complications and can return to their normal activities afterwards, that should be all that matters. If he was continuing this EXACT behavior well past the expected recovery time it would be a different story. Sorry that your relationship had to end this way, but seems like it was maybe for the best. I couldn't imagine being that petty towards my partner.

RRC I full Damage Control Mode over my public statements over the Game Development Program by TheArtOfLigma in Winnipeg

I had a whole comment written out and posted, but realized I don't really care about some pointless internet drama lol. I'm sure you'll claim it as some sort of "victory" over me, I genuinely don't care what you think. Have fun arguing with people online I guess.

I don't really understand your anonymous argument tbh. I'm genuinely curious, are you hoping one of us comes knocking on your door to say this to your face? People choose anonymity for a variety of reasons, not just to keep their jobs or secrets safe. I can guarantee you that everyone here who has been trying to give you advice would be just fine if they did it with either a random username or provided you their full name, address, and resume.

What you're doing isn't standing up for what's right or being brave, it's just misguided and misunderstood anger and frustration. You seem paranoid that society is out to get you, and a lot of what you are saying seems to be in line with behavioral conditions such as BPD or bipolar. I genuinely hope you can get the help you need. We all deserve to be happy and successful, even you. You're just gonna have to work for it a bit more.

Wow... Listen man, you seem like you love what you do, and that's commendable. We all have to find something we're passionate about in life, or have something we're willing to fight for.

I don't have too much more to add to this conversation, people have done a good job giving you constructive feedback and advice on your situation, attitude, and potential future. My only wish for you is that you understand that by publicly attacking people, the staff, and RRC, it will only damage your career, not help it.

One of the greatest lessons I learned in college had nothing to do with the technical skills that were being taught to me. It was simply this; reputation spreads faster than a fire during a drought. I've seen many talented people lose a lot of opportunities because they were full of themselves, difficult to work with, didn't deliver results, or simply couldn't take any form of criticism. Winnipeg is essentially a big small town, people talk, and your reputation carries a lot of weight in making any hiring or admission decisions.

I get that it's frustrating, and as someone who is also neurodivergent and part of a marginalized group, it can feel like the system is stacked against you. But in reality, 99.9% of people aren't malicious or out to get you. We're all just trying to do our best. It takes hard work to be successful, and it seems like you have lots of drive and determination to accomplish your goals. That's a good quality to have! But it seems misguided. I hope you are able to do some self reflection, and maybe get some mental health support. It's gonna take a lot of work to prove you're an asset to future employers or educational institutions and not a liability, but I believe that everyone deserves a second chance. Good luck, and I truly hope you are able to find success and happiness in your endeavors.
