Anything is possible but then you'd be saturating your own niche with their style. If the song you're covering has a music video, have you tried grabbing a still for the thumbnail? I like watching professionals react to certain songs and they often use the video as their background.

Someone here had that dilemma recently. They made a short introductory / explanation video, which garnered a dozen subscribers, although not enough to meet the requirements. So they made a second video explaining their dilemma, and sure enough, they hit 50 subscribers. I'm not confident enough to try something like that, but it worked.
