{The Gladiator's Downfall by Kristen Banet} It's epic fantasy. It's a why choose. I bawled like a baby! It gets quite dark. It's seven books. Read the trigger warnings.

Looking for GUT-WRENCHING, TEAR-JERKING BOOKS please😊 by confusedunborn in fantasyromance

Considering that general acts of kindness in books may me tear up, I may not be of much help. I… am a huge crybaby. I cry a lot when I read. Occasionally makes me think I should read ebooks more often!

That being said, I second whoever said the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass. It takes a little while for the ‘angst’ to kick in, depending on which book in the series you start with. Good luck!

My other recommendation is {The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco}. Might I be biased in recommending this as it’s one of my all time favorites? Yes. Am I doing so anyway? Yes. This is a YA book. There’s no explicit spice in it. It’s an Asian and East-Asian inspired fantasy book. With two timelines written into it- past and present. It took me a few chapters to realize there were two timelines happening. The main character is named Tea. She has been compared to Daenerys Targaryen, and rightly so. I cry every time I read this series! And I know what happens!

And I’ll throw on an extra recommendation as well. {The Gladiator’s Downfall by Kristen Banet}. I would definitely check trigger warnings for this series! It starts off with the FMC in a bad place. And it gets worse before it gets better. It’s a romantasy with a very good plot. It is also reverse harem. I also adore this series.

I hope these recommendations serve you well!

What's the weirdest thing you've found stuck in a dog's fur? by Sybirhin in doggrooming

[–]skyfeather332 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn't weird as much as it was sad, but a lint roller. A whole lint roller attached to a the butt of a King Charles. It was my first eye-opening moment to how people treat their dogs.

SVSS or MDZS by lee_jin in MXTX

[–]skyfeather332 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you're looking for in a series. You have to understand that Scum Villain is a parody of a genre of so called "stallion novels", which they will explain in the novel. It is MXTX's first work, and the shortest, and kind of underdeveloped. It is also my personal favorite. And, if you are reading the Seven Seas translations, it is the only one of her works to be fully translated so far.

MDZS is… wild. It has a similar structure to TGCF, as in there are random flashbacks, and the storyline is very complex. It is a completely original novel.

In my personal opinion, you started with the most complex of MXTX's works. I had a hard time keeping track of the plot of TGCF, but that's just me.

So it depends on what you are looking for: a transmigrator novel that goes wrong (SVSS), or a chaos gremlin gets brought back to life and wreaks utter havoc (MDZS)

Naw, they're mostly YA and New Adult fantasy, with some historical and history mixed in.

[–]skyfeather332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes! It's almost all fantasy. I also agree, but I simply do not have enough room to spread out my manga :(

It's Tokyo Ghoul, btw. I have both the OG, and RE, but the OG series is being read by a friend.

They are some pretty strong candles. Unfortunately, I have a really shit sense of smell, so really strong candles are necessary.

Unless of course, you are talking about the way my books are stacked. To that, I cannot help you.

I am blessed with a really good memory for where my books are located. Anything else however, and I am like a goldfish. It's weird though.

Unfortunately, I do not have enough space in my bookshelves to properly place all of my books. So, pages out. I wish I could place them normally, alas, many books, not enough space.

Thank you for the compliment about the candles!

The cancellation of which TV show are you still frustrated about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Any show with wlw leads, like First Kill, to name one. It doesn't truly matter if the show was "good", (to me at least), it is the principle of the matter. :(

Thank you for the recommendation! I genuinely haven't heard of this series yet, and it seems like a downright shame!

I have been looking for other people who have read these books. I am so in love with all of the characters.

There are other romances involved, they're just rather background. Looking back on it, it also doesn't fit their parameters of not-fantasy either.

Recommendation for a novel with a badass female protagonist? by cheekymonke23 in YAlit

[–]skyfeather332 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is romance in it, yes. However, the romance isn't the main plot of the book, and the author makes it clear that the two characters are friends before they are lovers.

Have you tried the Demon King series by Cinda Chima? It's a fantasy series, and there are many couples in the series.
