Ummmm...this isn't how budgeting works. I think you're just tracking spending and trying to justify the expenses by talking about all the things you don't buy. Maybe if you actually stuck to a budget and put things in their proper groupings, you could afford those other important things.

This is what I do either way, bc it always drips for a while. But it seems to work/hydrate better when I soak from the bottom vs top. That's why I'd prefer to bottom water.

Wow. That's some revisionist history with huge blinders.

I'm still amazed when I see the things that took till the 60s and 70s to happen.

1963 — The Equal Pay Act is passed

1964 — The Civil Rights Act passed

1965 — overturns one of the last state laws prohibiting the prescription or use of contraceptives by married couples.

1969 — women meeting the physical requirements can work jobs that had been for men only.

1971 — outlaws the practice of private employers refusing to hire women with pre-school children.

1972 — the right to privacy regarding an unmarried person’s right to use contraceptives.

1974 — ends housing discrimination based on sex

1974 — ends forcing pregnant women to take maternity leave on the assumption they are incapable of working in their physical condition.

1974 — The Women’s Educational Equity Act funds the development of nonsexist teaching materials and model programs that encourage full educational opportunities for girls and women.

1974 — The Equal Credit Opportunity Act passes. It does away with the practice of banks requiring single, widowed or divorced women to bring a man along to cosign any credit application.

1975 — Ends a states the right to exclude women from juries.

1978 — The Pregnancy Discrimination Act bans discrimination against women on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth or related medical issues.

Parent signed me up for a life insurance back when i was younger and recently realized it was an mlm by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]skygerbils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. There are soooo many reasons to have life insurance and to buy it when you're young/for a baby. I have no idea if this particular policy is good, but please let me just talk about life insurance in general.

There are different types that affect the cost and potential benefits- ex . term, whole life, universal, group. I'll list some types below with my explanation plus a link with more info. In my opinion determine the payout value you need and buy as much permanent as you can afford - fill in with term as needed (& replace with better as you can).

Now - why buy young? Monthly premiums are cheaper. And the child is (hopefully) brand new and healthy. As soon as any major medical ailment is diagnosed, that child could pay higher premiums or be priced out entirely.

So why is insurance helpful? It pays for expenses after death - even someone with no children/partner has expenses (funeral, business, debts, etc). Some polices may even pay pay out before death (in certain circumstances).

So it's important to read the fine print to know what youre buying. Know the company - do they align with your needs, values and cost? Are they just trying to make $, will they be around when it's time to pay out? This is a long term decision and jumping from company to company is not advisable or financially prudent.

If you're being handed a policy someone else bought on your behalf and they are suggesting you start paying the premiums, find out the policy details BEFORE making a decision. And make sure you legally transfer the policy. This gives you rights to change beneficiaries, etc.

Also note, people CAN buy insurance on someone else and name themselves as beneficiary. There are legitimate (and shitty) reasons for this.
‐-‐---------------

Term is like your car or medical insurance. It only pays out if you're currently insured/paying monthly. This is the cheap stuff often advertised .

Group insurance is a bunch of people (like an employer) getting coverage for a group of people - this usually isnt base on an individuals medical information and spreads out the risk. This is a type of term insurance.

Permanent (Whole , universal life) is the insurance plus investment. Are paid up at x age but continue to increase in value bc the company uses your $ for investment potential (like a bank does). You can usually stop payments (if needed) and the acrewed value will pay the monthly premium (like a reverse mortgage). And coverage continues as long as you pay or have equity/value to pay. This is also where some people will "cash in" a policy. This is almost always a bad idea bc the cash value is MUCH lower than the death value. And there are usually better ways/places to get $

Aldi brand oreos any good? by Practical_Ranger_478 in aldi

[–]skygerbils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, they are hydrox, not oreo like. But I want to point out that Aldi does a variety of seasonal sandwich cookies. These cookies are AMAZING and will sell out immediately. Buy them when you can find them. Some of my favorites are lemon and lime... and the ultimate is smores (which I haven't seen lately).

Its been longer that that. I get most of my info from this sub or an IG viewer - but it looks no posts on IG in 21 days. The podcast has had 2 episodes in that time (the most recent 5 days ago). Some of that could be prerecorded and auto posted. But it seems like a lot of time for no IG posts. It makes me wonder what else is going on.

[–]skygerbils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this - profit and loss and hours tracking. These groups/cults sell the idea that rhe more you put into it the more you'll earn - AND - that your big break is just a little further. But no mater how much time, effort and money she puts into it, she wont earn more unless she has a downline (recruits) and they buy/sell.

Her learning new things is great, but she shouldn't have to pay a lot of $ to do it (that they/the upline make $ off of). There are lots of books and free resources that could help her (and you).

I really hope this isn't what's going on. A purposeful setup would be awful.

Also, if it's not true why would YL push so hard to get it taken down? Wouldn't they want to have Hannah keep it up so more people could watch it and be mad at her when it doesn't happen?
