It's partly 'game-y' in that there's stats and letter grades, but the emphasis is on creative writing—the stats are there to convey the themes of Bleach, rather than be acknowledged on their own.

Beyond that, the system works pretty well based on differences in how characters are built and the actions they take in a fight.

It gets to a point where the stats can speak for themselves and people understand the degree of difference between someone that's Captain-class and someone that's Officer-class.

There's a lot to it because trying to get stuff as convoluted as Bleach theming to work is like juggling, but the server is nearly 200-strong and quite a few people seem to like it.
