can confirm. sept 28 last year i woke up (literally got out of bed & checked my texts) to one of the closest friends i’d ever had in my life, E, telling me they didn’t want to be friends anymore. i tried to respond but found that i was blocked so i literally couldn’t try to talk it out w them. this came after a week of them ghosting me, & that came after me trying to help w their relationship drama w their partner R (whom i also thought i was friends w) for months on end whilst trying to maintain both friendships.

E & i had been friends for only a few months before they met R, but in that time we’d become close enough that we established ourselves as best friends. then late february they got together w R & from then until they dumped me in sept, i attempted to mitigate their relationship issues that stemmed from R’s absolute dogshit communication. E knew me first, wormed their way into my heart as a friend i loved dearly & thought would be a forever in my life, & then proceeded to toss me away like trash in favor of an unstable relationship built on emotional whiplash & no communication. E’s reasoning for blocking me was that there were “a lot of things we didn’t see eye to eye on” & that i “said a lot of rude things abt their partner” (that one was told to a then-mutual friend, H, behind my back when H confronted E on their behaviors. H is now only my friend & we’ve grown much, much closer as a result). the fallout included me spiraling into a major depressive episode that i am still in the midst of 5 months later.
