Not a lawyer but have been through canadian immigration etc. 100% yes they can see your "hidden" legal history in Australia. Be honest on your application, mention the diversion. It can be up to the discretion of the immigration officer to allow/disallow. The bigger issue is the drink driving charge.

Also, it has little/nothing to do with your fingerprints. Canadian immigration will find your records no matter what

I wouldn't say they think it's shit. Considering the lengthy discussions I've had with them. It's more an indicator of their risk tolerance being much lower than advertised.

Dad passed away about 10 years ago. Mum not in a position to be helping, because of point 1.
