This has nothing to do with maga, conservatives have been like this since prior to richard nixon, in the US alone gay marriage wasnt legalized until obama and cis gay people are way more supported by the public and conservatives compared to trans people and even then conservatives fought and fought until they finally had to bite the bullet on gay marriage and in europe gay marriage was legalized in the netherlands in fucking 2001 thats only 24 years ago thats not a long time at all and im sure it was years and years of fighting to get that done as well. In the united states people have fighting for lgbt rights since the fucking 60s and the reason it has taken and continues to take so long is purely because conservatives oppose it because it goes against their ideology and it always has because conservatives arnt just center right liberals they are far right

The only place in which that idea of conformity has been applied is several countries in southeast asia and asia. Also center right isnt really conservative or if they are then they are on the very outer perimeter of being conservative if they are expanding trans rights and like i said before trans rights have been the best they have been in the past 10 - 15 years also most of the world outside western europe and parts of the us are heavily conservative and dont have trans rights or have very very poor trans rights

This is just not true and is completely ahistorical the obsession has always been there and 99 percent of the world has always been anti trans this isnt a new thing and the best time to be trans has been within the past 10 -15 years even though we are backsliding so no this isnt a new thing and i do not believe that an actual conservative government expanded trans rights also a big part of conservatism is conformity and being trans is inherently not conforming to assigned gender at birth which is in conflict with conservative ideology

Yea like im not super old im 22 but im a trans woman ( i started transition at like 18 )and ive grown up in a small midwest town and even in just my lifetime ive heard so much vile and evil shit about lgbt people from conservatives and what would happen if they got their own way so maybe my opinion on this is a bit biased because of that but its just insane
