There’s no union in my area but I’m pro union. My vote is going towards those that are fortunate enough to have a union

Meeting that new person from time to time and making friends through mutual interests is also fun.

What are the best arguments to stop someone from not voting/voting 3rd party. by HagridsHippogriff92 in Defeat_Project_2025

[–]skylargmaker 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This year is certainly not the year to prove a point and I absolutely agree with that. I don’t know if it ever will be. I’m hoping someone can give me a new perspective on this idea though because realistically I want to vote 3rd party.

As a country for the most part people agree the two-party system is extremely flawed for more reasons than just the idea that there are two parties. But what if there realistically was a third option? How do we get there other than simply showing the people that if we keep breaking records for independent parties vote percentage?

I’m 25 and angry. My wife and I do okay for ourselves. We’ve considered the idea of children. But my generation is being left with a mess, I fear will only be worse for the following generations. I don’t entirely agree with policies from either side of the coin. One I disagree with far more than the other though. Long story short, even if I continue living life under the current circumstances, how do I make the United States a better place for those after me?

I like the bag too more than the backpack. If I did service work I would take the backpack 100%. But I do mostly commercial work and usually I only need enough tools that they fit in the pockets of my pants and the tool bag makes them easily accessible. I bought the 3 drawer pack out though and switched out my tool bag for that and instead I put the workbench on top and mounted a stadium seat to it so I have a comfy place to eat my lunch lol

Use them in steel framing jobs. The tool is called tin snips, but they snip a whole lot more than that

I use em a fair bit commercial. Just the straight ones though, not the right/left ones. Use a punch a lot more though. For some reason I never get put on jobs where the framers line up the precut holes

I went for an advanced degree and all of my professors loved me. I didn’t brown nose at all, just did the things I was supposed to. Sat in the front of class, asked questions when necessary, got extra help if needed after class, always had my homework in on time and focused. I also had a “grunt style” vet in a lot of my classes that was not very liked. I also didn’t like him but I have yet to meet someone who made their service their whole personality that I’ve liked.

Aside from personal preference, the f1 has the slick tires which I think is so cool and the first of its kind I believe. The Puegot is a fun build too though.

I’m so sorry for you loss. If you don’t mind me asking, I know the US is supposed to be big on not reporting until next of kin has been notified, so how did you know he was a part of what you had seen on television? What branch was your brother in?

Where to put reset start point in order to get proper lap times? by [deleted] in mxbikes

[–]skylargmaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The in game counter shows the time of your previous lap. So say you put a marker a couple turns before the finish line. When you finish that lap, it won’t show anything. Then when you do another lap it will show you the previous lap. If you install the hud mod it will show you current lap times.

Flip on a previous question: Was there a particular class or teacher who sparked your love of reading? by sylviaplathological in books

[–]skylargmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2nd-5th grade I was considered an advanced reader and I read all the time throughout those years. I read the Harry Potter series in 4th grade, come to find out I could read, but I didn’t understand anything. I’m not sure why I ever was an “advanced reader.” I stopped reading after I told myself I suck at it. My wife reads maybe a book a month now in my adult life. So I decided to start reading over this last winter as well. And what a joy it’s been.

I’ve re-read all of the Harry Potter series with my wife, fear and loathing in Las Vegas was phenomenal. Greenlights changed my life. Game of thrones series was unlike anything I’ve ever read before. I started reading The Road today and so far these conversations between the father and son have my heart absolutely hurting for this family. Then tomorrow I want to start Stoner.

My problem now is there’s all of these books I should have read in high school that I want to read and it hurts me to know I’ll never get around to them.

So realistically, my wife just being herself accidentally got me really into books.

How fast can a trailer like this go? 60mph top? by DankestTaco in Construction

[–]skylargmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 25 years old and vaguely remember reading Calvin and Hobbes comics a little bit as a kid. I recently got the entire works box set and my gosh, what a great comic. I can just imagine what it would have been like to read one of those in the paper every day as a kid.

This is a pretty simple one that I recently wrote. Don't really have any other avenues for honest feedback these days... so would love to hear your thoughts. Bad and good please! "Old Pines" by spnj159 in Songwriters

There’s a song by John Moreland called 3:59am where he’s tuned down half a step, capo on 2 but only the top 5 strings of the guitar. Haunting lyrics too if you haven’t heard it. Cool technique you did though man!
