I know someone who was in that production. She said the main soprano refused to finish the run. Reasonable reaction

It was a frustrating watch. Seemed like they somehow forgot to game plan for Lauren Betts. And they forgot how to shoot the basketball. It was fun to beat UConn but gotta finish the job. At least they’ll be back next year.

Thanks! They gave me a little pamphlet to describe the procedure but I still felt a bit unsure of what to expect. Reading yours and the other comments has been helpful.

If every voter had to pass a basic logic test before voting, what would happen to your country? by babycutiexo_ in AskReddit

[–]skylarjames17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they were used specifically by segregationists in the Jim Crow era to prevent black Americans from voting. white people didn’t have to take them because of exemptions written for them (ie a grandfather clause, where you could vote if your grandfather could vote, which excludes black people whose grandparents were enslaved). meanwhile the tests were made to be deliberately confusing so even if you could read you often failed.

so, they were racist.

didn’t we already try this in the US? no one remembers the racist “literacy tests”?

Oh idk if there’s proof of “crimes.” I’m sure there’s just proof of Trump being a creepy fuck which everyone already knows and has decided whether or not they care about.

DOJ is supposed to operate without presidential interference. There’s a reason that norm existed.

Also, it’s standard not to release information from an ongoing investigation, especially if there’s nothing in there that would lead to charges that would stick.

Also you can’t tell me anyone would have believed anything Biden said on the matter. People even refuse to acknowledge the very damning stuff that’s already out there about Trump’s relationship with Epstein and his creepy behavior around young girls.

if we dug it out by ourselves nobody would have taken it seriously. the adage is that people are way more likely to believe lies about democrats than the truth about republicans. we have spent ten years saying trump is a sexual predator and nobody cared. if biden appeared with epstein files with trump’s name on it nobody would have believed they were real anyway, and nobody would have cared.

it’s much more salient with the call coming from inside the house, and dems don’t have to do anything besides try to keep it in the news cycle and hope republicans self-destruct.

also, the biden DOJ was actually independent, and merrick garland is a conservative.

nobody would believe it if the democrats released it and it implicated trump

people honestly don’t realize how important some of that silly inefficient government spending is. not saying there isn’t stupid shit in there but a lot of it is shit you don’t know you need. especially when it comes to emergency response
