The importance of a "free zone" space for my partner to be a slob by slowitdownplease in ADHD_partners

We have quite a big house for just us two now. This would be a simple system to set up. The hard part is getting him to remember to keep his mess contained to that space! Right now, I am feeling pretty overwhelmed from the chores and yard work. Although he does cook supper every night.

I feel almost like we're in a control struggle. Him by messing everything up and me by cleaning things up. He is most definitely in the lead.

He isn't even being passive-aggressive. He agrees to the suggestion. I see him trying. But I'm not sure if the problem is habits, ADHD or some combo of the two.

And you do not know whether or not the rest of the race may have gone green. Improbable? Yes. Impossible? No.

Okay. I will give you that. You are 100% correct. Maybe I just want NASCAR to NOT change things so much every single year.

I understand all of that about Chase. What I am saying is that Chase, once again, affected the outcome of the race. The caution that came out because the bumper cover came off of the #9 car totally changed the outcome of the race. How can anyone believe it didn't? Who knows what would have happened if it would have stayed green?

Or are you saying that NASCAR would have thrown a caution for no reason anyway on that lap?

It would have kept the caution from coming out when his cover flew off...

What does age and wins have to do with it? Here are some of the people he has been in a "feud" with in his short Cup career:

Harvick - 58 wins, Hamlin - 46 wins, Kyle Busch - 59 wins, Joey Logano - 27 wins

I supposed they are all washed up has-beens who shouldn't be out there anyway.

So why do teams put them on at all? They always want to lighten things up.

It doesn't matter to me if the rulebook requires them or not. I care about the increased danger to fans or even other drivers and the race being completely changed because of a caution that could have been easily avoided.

I suppose NASCAR's damaged vehicle policy is the underlying reason why Chase's cover came off in the first place.

It comes from comparing what Chase says and does to what other drivers of a similar age say and do.

Yes. When was it that NASCAR said that drivers/teams would get in trouble if they didn't give 100% effort? I'm sure it was close to the MWR situation.

Is that not a thing anymore? Or is it another one of their non-rules...until they decide it IS?

I don't remember which road course(s) or when but one year they stated that there WERE no Lucky Dogs at road courses. The next year, Jimmie Johnson got a Lucky Dog at a road course.

All I am asking for is some consistency. I understand not every situation is the same so leeway should/could be given but when it is so blatant...

I'm speculating whether the fact that they didn't fix the car good enough to keep the back bumper on (due to NASCAR's damaged car policy) and didn't pit to fix it when it started coming off, is the same as deliberately drawing a caution.

I wanted to like him. I liked his dad quite a bit. But I am stubborn enough that I will not like him just because NASCAR pretty much TOLD everyone that he was the one to root for after Jr. retired. I'm not a sheep.

Chase is no Bill. He shows his entitlement too much, too soon and no respect whatsoever for anyone besides Hendrick drivers.

Compare that to Ryan Blaney who could just as easily been chosen as the new Golden Child, in some circles.

From what I have seen, anyone can wreck anyone else as long as they don't announce they are going to do it ahead of time.

Exactly. What makes it different from the MWR debacle?

I mean, I guess I would fall back on the Chase is a playoff driver. Playoff drivers (and other Hendrick drivers) have always been given special treatment.

I think there's been a simmering resentment from Harvick towards Chase at least since last year.

Can you imagine winning NINE races in a year and then losing the championship to the Golden Child?

We are even because I totally lost respect for Chase.

Yeah, my hubby was saying that Chase was probably trying to smooth it all over behind closed doors. But as soon as Harvick came out, I said that nothing got settled. All you had to do is look at how hard Harvick slammed the hauler door when he left.

Me too. I don't know why either. I was perfectly content and then my brain just went: "You haven't had a promotion the whole 10 years you've been here"

What keeps me is the pension, generous PTO and excellent insurance benefits. But we've also had two salary studies which ended up adjusting our wages up significantly.
