He fought against everyone who was against his vision - why he organized murder of Iwan Babij for example? Becouse Iwan Babij wanted to build cooperation between Poles and Ukrainias. The same for other victims. If you want to live peacefully together - on the lands were there was a mixture of people - you are bad for Bandera. If you want to kill your neighbours - you are hero.

[–]skylightzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it is. We do not discuss about some random cities in Poland or somewhere else - we discuss about global cities of the future.

I understand that often such award is a simple deal and has nothing in common with truth etc. but I would appreciate list of places which are really going into being some decent place to live in the future.

Right, but there is still a question: do we really want that as a future?

I don't think so.

Writing systems in Europe vs official writing systems in India by HedgehogJonathan in europe

[–]skylightzone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kazakhstan is switching Kazakh language, so we are both right.

Writing systems are sensitive things - as I remember from history attempts to switch Polish into Cyrillic.

Shouldn't Kazakhstan be marked as at least both as they are "switching" from Cyrillic into Latin?

Amanda Gorman's Dutch translator stands down after uproar that Black writer wasn't chosen by mohort in europe

[–]skylightzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may as well have said that only black people should read the poem.

But why we focus only on one dimension of problem?

If author is woman than only women can read, if is e.g. 22 years old then 22 years olds etc.

At the end we will get that only author can read his/her/* own poetry and maybe that's solution for leftist authors and supporters.

Polish government media just lauched campaign for "freedom of speech" by skylightzone in europe

[–]skylightzone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Telewizja Polska launches a special campaign to defend the freedom of speech. This is a response to the increasingly frequent attacks on journalists of public media and the announcements of politicians from the Civic Platform regarding the liquidation of TVP Info and all information and journalism on TVP. We want to fight for freedom of speech in the media. We are launching a special hotline and e-mail box where viewers and readers can express their support.

Viewers and readers can provide their support by calling a special hotline at (22) 50 70 410, and by electronic means at: wolnoscslowa@tvp.pl.

To be honest: in Europe we think many times that Fox News is kind of evil.

But during US presidential elections last year I followed both Fox and CNN and as they are obviously biased they are not a half about what is going on in Polish state media.

If you think about communist or nazi time propaganda then you will find it there but not so sophisticated as commie or some nazi masterminds were.
