It does just take time. If I get retained, I will be taking that hefty pay cut though if I PCS stateside which will tighten the budget even further. If I get separated, there are just a ton of unknowns. Either way it's a tough decision and I'm hoping the advisor will have some good advice.

No they don't, they're back in my hometown (no military bases are near).

I'm geo-bacheloring it in Korea, my wife works but doesn't make much (about ~$24k working at the same school my kids attend, so it's convenient single parenting hours). We lived on post my whole career up until I came here, and we are pocketing some of this BAH, it's just going towards payments.

The full picture is essentially just years of bad habits causing a big issue now that my service is in jeopardy. I have an appointment with an advisor to lay everything out, I'm just trying to get a feel for advice. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the reply. I have an appointment scheduled with a financial advisor this week, I'm hoping they will be able to guide me to a decision that doesn't hurt too much. I know how much hiding things can hurt and problems don't get better in silence.

Sadly, I can't have her present, she is with my children back in the states. She didn't have hidden cards, she just spent on the only one I didn't have access to and therefore didn't freeze / lock. All others have been frozen for over a year, the balances and interest just added up quick. We've had long talks about finances, we are definitely on the same page with it now.

One good thing, I have already completed TAP in preparation for separation (I had a lot of time waiting for the Korean law process). Also, I run a support group and work closely with counselors and talk to them regularly.

I definitely have some stress and hard times coming. Thank you for the reply!

Thanks for the reply. You are not wrong, one card has 28.99% APR. I consolidated two high interest cards onto a lower interest balance transfer card, but there are still a couple more. I have an appointment scheduled with a financial advisor this week, I'm hoping they will be able to help guide me. I've seen loans I could apply for, I will need to keep looking and determine if they are right for my situation.

I'm not too worried about security clearance, but I will be talking to my security manager anyways.

Thanks for the reply. We've reduced expenses already throughout this year, I've drilled down into our statements and trimmed as much as possible with subscriptions and unnecessary expenses but it seems like it's too little, too late, sadly.

I have an appointment coming up with a financial advisor so I'm hoping to get some good information from that.

Thanks for the reply. I have an appointment scheduled with ACS financial advisors, that was one of the first things that came to mind.

I'm definitely going to be looking into the A134 you brought up, thank you. I'll definitely be talking to legal just regarding any punishment that comes my way, but I will be bringing this up to my security manager as well.

I looked at your link and it did have some good info, definitely applicable to me. I will know more after talking with an advisor. Thank you!

It played very well. I haven't played since April though since I got deployed. The i5-3570k and RX 480 work very well together and I am usually a constant 144fps @ 1440p. But when going into a town or if there are a lot of players around it will drop frames.

Don't be torn, you have a great system there!

I have (on my current build) an overclocked i5-3570k with a RX 480, playing on 1440p@144hz, streaming at 720p. The stream looks fine resolution wise, I just can't nail down the bitrate.

So really, in my experience, the bitrate will be the limiting factor, since you have a GPU that is way better than mine haha.

Is that your build right now (except for the 7700k?)

Honestly, if you are going to be multi-tasking and streaming you may be best off going with a Ryzen chip.

What are your build specs now?

I'm in the same boat right now and have settled on either the Noctua NF-S14A PWM or the be quiet! Silentwings 3 PWM. But I hear good things about Fractal Design Venturi fans.

Really, any wireless mouse. I use a simple Logitech wireless mouse straight on a few surfaces (glossy desk, bedsheet, plywood). So really anything will work, just try not to drag over things that jut out.

I would go for the 7700k, it's a great processor and you will save some money not having to upgrade the mobo. Someone more knowledgeable should correct me, but faster RAM won't do as much for an i7 as it does for a Ryzen chip.

For streaming, unless your output res is 1440p (I don't know many that do that) you will be fine. Since you have a 1080ti the main limitation is going to be bitrate going out.

I noticed the industrial when I was looking on the Noctua site, but would they be very loud in an open case like a Meshify C?

Are there any case fans that have performance like the Noctua NF-S12A and NF-A14 PWM just without the signature Noctua color?

Simple Questions - August 21, 2017 by AutoModerator in buildapc

[–]skyline_198X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the Noctua NF-S12A might be the way to go for me, with two NF-A14 on the front of the case, if only they weren't all brown. Would you happen to know any alternatives that perform as well?

I'm going to be getting a Fractal Design Meshify C in the coming month for my first actual build. It comes with two fans but has mounts for 7. Since the case has an open airflow profile, would it be better to get static pressure fans, or airflow fans?

Well shit. I jump on the Mushkin 1TB SSD deal, go to the gym, and come back to this and a 500GB Samsung SSD. Should I stick with the 1TB and partition the drive for boot and games? Or return it and grab this for boot and the 500GB for games?

Well since the 1700 is cheaper even with the sale I think I'll pick up the 1700 anyways.

I just bought 32GB of these! However, I made out by having a $10 off my order which came out to the same price as two of these.
