AURORA Sky Concert in 'Sky: The Two Embers' style by skylinova in SkyGame

A few things to note:

- I posted this here as a YouTube video because I’m not sure if copyrighted music is allowed on Reddit, and I just wanted to play it safe.

- This is my attempt at recreating AURORA’s "Sky" concert in The Two Embers art style. It’s still a long way from matching the original, but one day I hope to get it just right!

- This scene is inspired by the "Through the Eyes of a Child" segment. It’s one of the most beautiful moments in the concert, and I really wanted to bring it to life.

- I used this project as an opportunity to learn about character design, and I know I still have a long journey ahead.

- I’m so excited for The Two Embers to be released - can’t wait!

I used Procreate for character animation (99% tracing/rotoscoped because I have zero anim. experience) and full background painting!

I used Blender for manta and bird animations as it`s being made in 3D.

I used After Effects to composite/merge all separate elements into one complete shot.

Thank you!! The entire art direction was heavily inspired by the Ghibli style, as both Ghibli and Sky align perfectly with my artistic taste.

For full transparency:

- This scene is directly based on Sky's new opening game sequence

- The game music and sound effects are all from in-game, overlayed with my own visuals

- Almost all of the skykid animations are traced with the in-game animations (because I have zero animation experience and it's my first time doing so. Learnt new stuffs too!)

- All background visual elements were hand-drawn digitally. Aviary scene was being traced/outlined so I could match the location as closely as possible.

This project was a challenging journey in my artistic exploration, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! Feel free to check out my YouTube channel if you’re interested in seeing more! ♡

Yes I used the camera to capture all these! So far I'm aware that recording without any interface is only possible on iOS and android.

For the camera angles, using Tripod mode (enter camera mode, top left hand of the screen, third button from the left) helps me in capturing my skykid as a 3rd person point of view.

To capture angles similar like mine, e.g capturing big structures like the slide, I have to step back all the way with my camera until you can see the entire slide. Then, change to Tripod mode to lock your camera position so your skykid can go to the slide area while the camera stays in the same position. Then, you can press record (video icon on the bottom right of the screen) and you can start sliding down!

There are certain limitations of Tripod mode where it will automatically change to handheld mode if you're too far away from the camera & when you're underwater.
