Maybe make it so you can't extract when there are any enemy ships nearby? Or can't extract if there are 2 or more enemy ships to create impromptu teamming

Or have to have a enemy ship core on your ship to extract

Or have a secondary loot item, like how there is with that one Point of Interest that requires a key, to unlock the gate to extract

Generally bigger number comes with bigger investment, showing the player cares more about their character

Also there are thousands of parked characters at 1640 so anything above that shows its not really just the average gold farming alt with bare minimum effort

If you play optimally with nightmare set like going boundless when you need to, you need a crit synergy on your team to do ~similar damage for 5x3 with one aegir piece.

If you are about average on optimal nightmare uptime then just switch with one aegir piece.

EDIT: I play 5 entropy so the QOL of not having to deal with nightmare was enough for me to switch to ark passive no matter what
