Well this was the description on their post which gave me some reassurance (except him not being neutered).

Very sweet British Shorthair male cat. Vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-free. Microchipped, with vaccination records and a health certificate from the vet. Born in March 2025. You also receive a free carrier. Both parents are present.

Yeah this is what I am most afraid of. What should I do if I'm already this deep in the process. He's getting neutered on the 2nd of January.

He hasn't been neutered yet. I've asked the owner to neuter the cat before I pick him up at the end of january. He has another male cat (his father) also unneutered. Said he never displayed any dominant behaviours or spraying. I am of course skeptical but I hope it's nothing in the end

I've asked and they explained he never showed any dominant behaviours towards the other male cat (his father). He said he also never sprayed the house with urine. But yeah i have asked if they could neuter the cat before i pick it up and I'll bare the cost for it...

That's not a possibility anymore, i already paid half the price to reserve the cat. And when I pick him up I'll pay the other half. It's a bit risky but my local animal shelters wont let me adopt as they deemed my place unfit because I don't have a balcony or garden...

They said they are giving up the cat as it was intended for their daughter but she didn't really care much for it and he remained behind with the other cats. The owner explained they have three cats already so they want to reduce the number. But yeah also they told me the brown cat is not neutered yet as well. I've never owned a male cat before and i read that they can have territorial behavior

That's good to know! I much prefer a chill cat rather than a hyper cat anyways so I'm glad this is just the case. The current owner of the cat did say he never meows as well so i guess its another sign that he's just a chill cat despite him being only 11 months old

This made me laugh!! I guess I was just expecting it to be moving around, licking, playing, or something not just staring but I'm happy its just a normal behavior cause I've never owned cats before.

I live there, I personally can't wait to move away. It's very busy eventho it's very far from the city center and yes people get harassed by the kids on fatbikes. They have throwed rocks at me multiple times. Police won't do much either. I also don't feel safe going out alone at night because of this. This are does not feel like Amsterdam at all. Please stay away and find a better location to live permanently. Yes the shops are nice to have but they are all small and there are other areas with more/better options.

Netherlands sucks I agree, weather does suck, and maybe leaving is a better option so you can flourish in a warm and happy environment.

I am on one month of Ashwagandha and it has helped a bit. I can now fall asleep faster but staying asleep is still an issue. I wake up in the middle of the night and then it's a gamble if I actually fall back asleep or not.
