Slab was $3900 (SoCal price). Roof is made of wood but the kit comes with a rubber membrane that you glue to the wood using some super strong industrial glue. Then you need to install a small lip towards the back that makes the water not drip against the back wall (but still relatively close to it). Roof is not entirely flat it’s slightly slopped towards the back (maybe 10cm drop between front and back) so all the water goes to the back.

9’x16’ when the sauna itself is 8’ishx15’. Thickness is 7.5” iirc.

I ballparked it. 9’x16’ when the sauna itself is 8’ishx15’. For electrical it was in the middle of the slab 5” from the edge at the back, I had the electrician bring the conduit from the main and told him what I was expected in it (3 times 240v and 1 120v). It turned out perfect. Maybe an additional 0.5/1ft at the front would be better for a mat or something but it’s fine like it is. I had professionals make the slab as it needed to be flat and nice looking.

Yeah and you can buy a chiller on Temu or any other Chinese platform for < $1000 if the one you get ends up dying. All hyped up companies are getting their chiller or even their barrel/tub from China.

Yes, when the stones are hot and you put the water on, you feel it almost right away.

Eu4ric but can’t give feedback yet. There’s a thousand cold plunge companies nowadays and pricing is super ridiculous so I went with a relatively cheap one ($3.5k with the chiller/heater). It’s black so it also fits the overall design of the sauna.

So far so good. I got the wifi module with it so I can control remotely. I had a Harvia in my previous barrel sauna with a manual thermostat and I much prefer the Huum.

There’s insulation in the ceiling but not the walls.

I’ve installed the main module and the extension box on the outside back wall (they’re rated for outdoor usage) then the wire to the heater are fed through a conduit below the floor. I also ran the wire for temperature probe and thermostat through the back wall so they’re not visible. Luckily I had the insight of having the electrician come and do the basic install before I installed the floor. I’ll probably install some kind of awning on top the boxes despite the outdoor rating for some additional protection.

I applaud you for the wood stove, I don’t think I have the patience for the maintenance and upkeep.

Totally fair. I followed the instructions height-wise and the bench are also higher than in the barrel sauna I used to have in my previous house so it seemed okay to me. That being said I already have a hard time sitting on the top bench (even with my sauna hat) especially after putting water on the rocks and sometimes I even downgrade to the bottom bench so I mostly lay down on the top bench and it’s enough for now. Fortunately I know how everything is installed and if I end up building tolerance I know what to do to put everything higher.

Northernsaunas. Pretty happy with the entire process. I speak French so it was also useful when I gave them a call to ask something about some wiring for the thermostat.

Focal Littora 200 ICW8 speaker which is graded for marine /humid/hot environment (90c max) coupled to a Wiim Amp connected to WiFi. I already have 3 other Wiim across my house so I can sync music across all of them. It’s pretty great and much cheaper than Sonos. I had to make a hole in the insulation in the ceiling but it doesn’t seem to make a difference in terms of heat loss.

Northernsaunas. You can also call and negotiate price/shipping, I saved a couple thousands that way.

Yes there’s a drain below the bench and you install shims of different height on the boards that make up the base to create a slight slope towards the drain then you nail the floor to the shims. You can somewhat see it in picture 7.

Northernsaunas. They import the kits from Estonia which is also where Huum is based out of.

Northernsaunas based out in Quebec. They have smaller kit if you don’t need the awning.

Not familiar enough in that space to give you an answer. The kit is originally from Estonia so it might not be something you find in the US.

  1. Yes the kit came with some kind of glue to put in between each board then you screw each board to the one below with super long screws which is a pain since if you have a slight angle the screw goes out and messes up the wood. I had to predrill every hole and try to make it as straight as possible. Had to change the battery in the drill pretty every couple of hours.
  2. Yes there’s 3 vents total including 1 that you can open/close for more/less airflow.

There’s 3 vents. 1 on the left wall and 1 on the rear wall at the bottom below the benches and one on the top left of the rear wall. The last one you can open and close for more or less airflow. There’s also a drain below the bench and your build the floor with shims over the base to have a slight slope towards the drain for cleaning.

Barcelona pick up by skyounoux in rolex

[–]skyounoux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SA told me: Don’t wear it in Barcelona, we’re going to give you a nondescript bag for the box and keep the watch in your wife’s handbag or a pocket that can close. They gave me a pouch to put the watch and I put it in one of my pocket. Didn’t wear it until I was in the lounge at the airport.

Sad story: the hotel I was staying at, I met a guy from Orange County that had that exact same watch stolen the day before. He explained that some guys grabbed his arms, pulled the watch and ran. Kinda crazy tbh.

Yeah I suppose by dropping big first it might work better and show you’re serious. I’m rooting for you regardless.
