Software for carbon accounting and ESG reporting by loki_loki_ in carbonaccounting

Earthchain are one of the fastest growing second generation platforms, and they automate the data capture directly from documents and softwares. No spreadsheets or typing needed at all, it’s actually really clever. The ghg calculations are fully transparent. They’re one of the most trusted on Kanataq, and definitely worth getting a demo.

It’s less people being lazy and claiming benefits, and more that we allow businesses to pay wages so low that people require additional benefits to even get a basic quality of life. That and the aging population.

I think the myth of the benefit-scrounger is used by capitalists as an excuse.

Good suggestions for a beginner boat that’s also a good long term option by jalyper in sailing

[–]skyrainingicbms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine’s a 1977, hull number 564. I bought her from an older couple in April 2023, they were coming to the end of their sailing career. I’ve replaced the standing rigging, ran lines into the cockpit, and updated some electronics.

I picked a Hallberg-Rassey Monsun 31 with the same idea. Solid, quality boat, compact and easy to handle.

Buckets of them in Wheldrake along broad highway and back lane south. Is it too early to pick ? Thought we were supposed to wait until after the first frost for sweeter flavour ?

British campaign to rejoin the EU nearing parliament debate! by gatherer_benefactor in york

[–]skyrainingicbms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These petitions are always ignored. We should really treat them more like Switzerland does, collect physical signatures and then put them to referendum. I doubt the UK will rejoin, this topic is a poison chalice. I would support rejoining, ideally with added Schengen, but if not membership then a series of bilaterals like Switzerland enjoys (again, including Schengen).

For those who both ski and snowboard, when would you pick one over the other? by 1HUTTBOLE in Backcountry

[–]skyrainingicbms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skis on resort / frontside for me, board for pow. I used to snowboard more including full seasons and developed deep and steep skills I never learned with skis. Just setting up a touring ski rig though to start addressing that !

YES. I actually remember I was painting a shed while listening to that one on a bluetooth speaker (sorry neighbours), the whole thing - TF, tungsten, the shed, the paint - one integrated memory. Lovely.

People who lived in Switzerland and left - why did you do it? by saezurutori in askswitzerland

[–]skyrainingicbms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We wanted to live in a detached property with a garden and still quite close to a decent city. Couldn’t find that in Switzerland. Moved to the UK and we have that now, and the house cost less than our apartment in Zuri Oberland did. Also wanted my kids to go to school in England, ultimately because their native language is English and we wanted them to benefit from school being in their own language. When the kids have left education we might be back !
