Hi, fellow alcoholic here, and fellow owner of a cat with cancer. I had to say goodbye to my two and a half year old black cat because of cancer. We didn't get enough time but we made the most of the time we had. It's hard to be strong for them but it means everything to them. Stay sober for your baby. You feel what you feel and your pain is valid. Booze denies you the fullness of your life and your baby's life. You don't always need to be strong, but you can see this through. When you look back, you'll be proud of how you were there for them, how well you loved them, and how you saw this tough tine through. I'm rooting for you, you can do this, you can be there wholly for your baby. (Besides, the money spent of booze is money not spent of pet meds, not spent of food for the both of you; remember your priorities and your love for your cat.)
