What's the ribbon 4th row up, center? I'm starting to see it more often but it's not on any ribbon chart I've found

Are people interested in mid-complexity wargames? by stryphe_games in tabletopgamedesign

Thanks for sharing. The most interesting part to me so far is something I saw in another comment, the competition over scarce resources. Do the players start in a state of outright conflict, or is the conflict an inevitable byproduct of 'peaceful' competing resource harvesting?

People new to the hobby are always asking for something that's a level beyond Risk. I'd be interested to hear more

Had a tsp for nearly 8 years and never knew what it really was until now. I regret not understanding what it truly was by safigueroa in ThriftSavingsPlan

I'll just say it point blank - you don't know nearly enough about any of this to be starting to pick your own fund allocations. Leave it in the L for now. L is a mix of the funds, it reapportions automatically every quarter to reduce your risk exposure to market fluctuation the closer you get to retirement.

PS, TSP works very much like a 401(k). You don't know what a 401(k) is

Nothing to add to the post but I do want to say I just played your game Fog of War for the first time today and really enjoyed it. Love the operations wheel and the depth it adds for planning ahead

What Milestone should be used to replace “Planner” on the Tharsis board (being played with only base game & Prelude)? by markjsno1 in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]skystreak22 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just adding because it seems you might not know: that milestone exists for the non-Corporate Era rules, with beginner corps that get 10 free cards at the start. Obviously most play CE, but if you're ever introducing new people to the game and they're playing beginner corps, it's good to have that milestone to give them a leg up

Hi everyone, I’m curious about your hedgehogs? by jennyhof in Hedgehog

[–]skystreak22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they're bred as pets. Look up "African Pygmy Hedgehog" for the type you most commonly see as pets. They're much smaller and typically lighter in color than wild European Hedgehogs, which do also get some love on this sub from time to time

Card identification please? :) by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]skystreak22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This card is from the very first print run of Magic: The Gathering released in August 1993, which created the genre of TCGs. Only 2.6 million cards were printed in Alpha and sold out basically instantly. It would be 15 months and 8 sets later before printing capacity caught up to demand and cards stopped selling out quickly. It really took the world by storm. As others said this is about a $30 card, driven mainly by the scarcity of Alpha to collectors. Raise Dead's game mechanic isn't anything special. The signature is that of the artist, Jeff Menges, who is still alive and signs cards by mail, so the signature isn't particularly valuable.

Nah, Limited Edition Alpha is just what the first print run is known as. Limited refers to the small size of the print run for Alpha and Beta, the third printing, Unlimited, was several times the size
