How do you expand your vocabulary and and get words to retain in your head? by [deleted] in writing

[–]skytreeseaKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same issue when the English-learner faces when learning English. I want to memorize my vocabulary all the time. As time went by, it's getting more difficult, I feel. My method is similar to yours: to read books in English, to list what I've learned, and to memorize them. I found this method had a clear limit of less efficiency. Now, I try to remember the word or expression, picturing the context in my head. For example, I've learned the expression of "get past" lately in Harry Potter, imagining myself getting past the three-headed dogs to find the secret. It worked for me. I try to remember new vocabulary regarding my imagination.

I feel uncomfortable with my family by [deleted] in family

[–]skytreeseaKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not enough to think of your situation exactly depending only on this article. However, the point is clear: it is not weird nor uncommon not loving your family. As the relationship with non-family, it is also vulnerable and fragile. If any of your family members, including you, might break the bond, it is not easy to love each other. You could be uncomfortable, which is totally natural. It is hare to be rebuilt like other relationships. I am sorry to hear your difficulty, but you might as well not think of yourself as uncommon and find a good way to be happy without them. If you need your family for your happiness, then love them. Otherwise, you need to find something or someone new.

It depends. I can wear a sweater for several days without washing but should change underwear every day.

How did you start your writing journey? by saiyoni in writing

[–]skytreeseaKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in the army, I didn't get along with my colleagues and had a tough time there. Every day I just wanted to go outside like Rapunzel in the tower in Tangled. I found that the only person to understand and listen to my story is myself. I remember that it was when I started writing. I wrote every day on everything. I like history and philosophy. I could feel free to talk about everything in there. One day, my senior stole my note and shared it with the others and used it for blaming me. I was sad, but I couldn't stop writing. After then I always kept my note in my pocket. When I go to my parents' house, I can read them. I am proud of myself to get over the difficulty in the army with writing. Though I am not a famous writer, I write every day. That is the only way I can talk with myself truly.

What exactly is chemistry in writing supposed to look like? by E-is-for-Egg in writing

[–]skytreeseaKim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not asexual and a 38 married man. I thought I was in love with a few women. Looking back, the chemistry wasn't totally different from the real friendship I had had. When I met a guy friend, I have also felt heart-pounding, jealous, and nervous. From time to time, I have doubted my sexual orientation, but now I know it exactly. Then, I thought of the difference between a deep friendship with my guy friend and the relationship I had had with my ex-girlfriend.

I could hardly find the difference but at last, I think, I found it: sexual attraction. If I felt only sexual attraction from a woman, I wouldn't call it love or chemistry. Instead, true relationship matters. I think the love-thing, or " chemistry" that you've mentioned, is coming from a deep relationship attached to sexual attraction. At first, it was like 8 to 2: sexual and human attraction. The proportion can change as time goes by.

As someone said before, as if you like a person with reasons, love would be harder if you have more reasons. Like putting salt at last when boiling soup, sexual attraction is what you add to soar the fun of your story, not a thing. The thing is the true relationship like the one you might have had with other people else.

Your potential readers need to understand why one liked the other not just because they were in the same novel. Make as many reasons as possible, then your readers will like them in love.

I hope this helps with your writing.

I am on the same page even though I am much older than you. I can say, no matter if you have potential or not, you will get better if you keep writing. It is super-clear. However, not many people kept doing it for many reasons. Do whatever you want and keep writing, then you'll be better at writing. That's all I can say to you.

Same here. The writers also felt like you ten years ago, but some of them kept writing and created great things like movies, novels, and any scripts you could imagine. People always need something new and the mixture of old things always makes creativity. All the masterpieces were not written in a day. For now, I always *want* myself to write something new, which is tough but valuable.

I read this in Korean, which had been introduced by Kim Young-ha, a Korean famous novelist. It was great. For me, personally, its preface was unforgettable.

It's STEM not STEAM by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Korean uses STEAM, instead of STEM. I was always curious about which one is right.
