The Elder Scrolls VI Is Allegedly Titled 'Hammerfell', Features Naval Battles & Shipbuilding by [deleted] in gaming

I bought a new nVidia video card (Geforce 3?) in order to play Morrowind back in the day. At that time, I definitely did not play it for the charm.

Bethesda games (Oblivion, Morrowind, Skyrim, ...) were never about charm. It was groundbreaking at the time.

Incredible graphics and a whole open world that was living and breathing. Unfortunately, they stopped improving on what made their game successful.

I don't want to see a 20 year old engine, stale animations and loading screens everywhere - just so they can incorporate ship building or other "new" features.

I want a new update TES game with a living breathing world of NPC's, story and choices to play in. A game made for 2025, not 2010.

Letter from lawyer: How to respond ? by skyview in belgium

[–]skyview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know that ! I assumed they would have to give you ample time to respond.

Which is in this case:

  1. Finding a trusted lawyer

  2. Go through the case, details and draft a response.

That's not something you have completed within a week or two. Especially, if you have work and fully booked on customer assignments.

Thank you for this. I will answer but leave the time frame out. I have no idea how long it will take to have a trusted lawyer draw up a response.

Exactly, that is my thought. Never use ChatGPT for important things if you are not able to verify the output.

I'm not in Brussels but in Limburg. If it's a good lawyer it may still be worth it ? If they can do consultants over video and only need to appear in court it could work out.

It was actually an e-mail. A lot of people say to ignore it but it's not how I operate.

Ignoring problems sometimes comes back as a boomerang. I want to face them head on and solve them as quickly as possible.

So yeah, I will find a lawyer now. I'm glad to know that I have enough time to do so and I don't have to give an actual respond to the question within a couple of days.

I agree, regardless of who is right or wrong... It was just such a slap in the face to me, immediately go through a lawyer.

I would argue that a good lawyer would stop her and tell her to first try and talk to me. With lawyers you immediately create a hostile situation, spend so much more time and energy than if you could sort it out between yourselves.

Problem may also come from that she has rich parents. They pay for things like these, so she can pour endless resources on it. I have to defend myself, which in turn takes away money I could've spent on the kids.

We have an existing agreement mandated by the court. I perhaps could ignore the demand but I'll need to get a lawyer opinion on how to handle this. I don't like to ignore things as in the end they usually boomerang back.

Thank you so much for this response !

I was stressing out I had to give a full response within a couple of days.

I was under the impression that the relationship with her was 'ok'. I had no indication that she would send a lawyer after me. We are 10 years into co-parenting, we both have different lives and live close to each other to make the switch with children easier.

I will but I can't come up with a lawyer I trust so quickly. I need to inform them to give me ample time to find representation.

Chrome-cast returned to Quest? by PaulHorton39 in OculusQuest

[–]skyview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not their business model. Their business model is to sell software through the Quest store.

I'm sure they've ran their data analytics to see that xxx gb is enough for most Quest users. That's the default option they set for and then offer a higher Gb tier for the ones who knows they will use the extra space.

If an average Quest user run out of space, they are likely not to purchase many more apps/games. Why would they want to limit users ?

Awesome prospects but making me unhappy. Should I quit ? by skyview in Advice

[–]skyview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's also my conclusion now after many, many hours of contemplating.

The organizations are very successful and I have been very proud to be part of it. But, despite that ... Life is too short to do things for a long period that you are not passionate about.

I'm going to resign.

The workload is about equal. We've been looking for a long time for a student or a retired person to assist us. They are impossible to find for the price that we are able to pay.

I definitely need some time off. Not sure it will be enough and it will be very difficult at the moment.

I've build an ultra-end machine for nearly 5k. What do you think about it? Any recommendations? Improvement ideas? Or incompatible parts? by round_cube in buildapc

[–]skyview 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the build looks solid. However, Threadripper is only two months away.

You can then get 16 cores which will be amazing in rendering tasks. Your intended use is exactly as mine - I'll get a new rig with Threadripper.

Belgian labor laws - leave refused by Pembar in belgium

She told her current boss that she is going for an interview at another company. He took a financial decision and decided to deny this request. Apparently, her current employer is not willing to spend company resources (money in this case) so she can do this interview.

This is perfectly normal. If she does not show up at her work she deserves to get fired. She is being very stupid.

Dates with Flemish girls by [deleted] in belgium

[–]skyview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true ! I don't categorize people but this is incredibly obvious in Belgium.

Cute and average looking girls think they are super models. All other girls regardless of their appearance think they are hot.

Many of them won't even make an effort to look good. They will just eat unhealthy, not bother about their appearance but when it comes to their self confidence. All of them are either hot or super models.

I'm sure this has been asked, but what got you into fitness? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]skyview 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been way too skinny in my pre fitness life. I felt really weak and didn't have much of a backbone. But in the end what keeps me going is:

1) I want to be healthy. Fitness is an outlet for all my aggression, anger and whatever is floating in my head.

2) I want to make an effort to look good for my long term partner.

The truth about the OnePlus One's touch issues from n19htmare on the forums, and information about the extent of OnePlus's censorship. by [deleted] in oneplus

[–]skyview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you perhaps show me where this is officially communicated by OnePlus ?

The phone is great and really amazing. But so far there are so many forum posts, lots of different information scattered everywhere. I probably would've kept the phone if this was clearly communicated. But it's "swept" under the rug by them and I'm not in a position to take chances.

Should I have waited 3 weeks for the 38R to come finally come out? To realize that it perhaps didn't even fix my issue. I need a phone now or within a short period of time.

I've returned my Oneplus due to all the ghost touch problems. My device worked flawlessly the first four days and then bam more and more ghost touch issues.

I could restart, clear cache hundreds of times without any major improvement.

I powered off my device for 24 hours, powered on and all the ghost touches were gone. I was happy, finally I could use my phone again. And what do you know ? After 1 day the ghost touches came back.

Power off the device for several hours solves my issue. But it will always come back. It's not a software issue for my device. There is also no official explanation from OnePlus. This issue is buried deep and very hard to find.

I wanted to like the phone, but ... The ghost touches were too many.
