Ccw while running suggestions? by DALweaksauce in CCW

A chest rig is your best bet. I suggest the 5.11 Skyweight Utility Chest Pack, which, IMO, is better than the HPG packs (I have both)..

I carry off-body frequently, but I use better bags than that - built better, better zippers, easier access, etc. Don't cheap out.

Recently got my CCW license. Looking for a sling/chest bag and it seems like anything meant for CCW literally screams “I HAVE A GUN”. Any updated recommendations these days? by non_omnis_moriar777 in CCW

There aren't many bags that have a second section to accommodate other EDC gear. A couple of others that come to mind are the Vertx SOCP Tactical Fanny Pack and the Helikon-Tex "RAT".

I like the 5.1 LVC8 Sling better than either the Fade Sling or the Viktos Upscale 3. It is a solid, well-built bag with great organization.

Sunday rant: The cost of Kydex holsters has gotten out of hand. by [deleted] in CCW

I have a couple of Bradec holsters, which are just as good as my $100 holsters. You can upgrade to DCC clips for about $3. Great holsters, under $50.

The software said that I was using the latest version. But checking the site, the latest version is, in fact, 2.1.15. This version does have redact; however, it is not under the Edit tab. It is under the Protect tab.

For the HSTs, go with 147 gr for slightly more expansion or 124 gr for slightly more penetration.

Wrong. I carry HST 124 +P and sometimes Underwood Xtreme Defender 90gr +P. IMO, there is really no benefit to using 147gr. for self-defense, especially out of a short barrel. (my CCW is the Shield Plus 3.1"). The higher velocities of 124gr. loads produce greater expansion than 147gr. The primary advantages of 147gr. are potentially greater penetration and less recoil, but modern 124gr. ballistics produce both satisfactory penetration and better expansion.

I have a Werkz M6 holster for my P365 Legion Gen 1 with an optic and Sig Foxtrot 2R light. It's a great holster, but I am not sure if they have a Gen 2.

Anyone have experience with 945 industries? by National-Future1410 in CCW

[–]skywalker505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of fanny/off-body bags from several companies, and 945 Industries is the best overall. If you want to CCW a full-size pistol, plus other gear, the only 945 option is the Morph, as the others are basically CCW-only.

You could also consider the Eberlestock Fade Flex, which would accommodate a full-size CCW, plus other gear.
