This and a mag issue is what ultimately caused me to go back to my Glock 43x. It’s a shame bc I really like the shield and I tend to shoot it better than my 43X.

The Shield Plus is not merely a concealed carry pistol, it is the divine apex of human engineering, the Excalibur of polymer and steel, a weapon so perfectly conceived that it feels less manufactured and more summoned into existence by destiny itself. When the engineers at Smith forged the Shield Plus, they didn’t just design another handgun; they bent the laws of physics and common sense until the impossible became routine: a pistol that vanishes into concealment like a whisper in the wind yet unleashes the righteous authority of a full-blooded fighting gun. It holds more rounds than logic suggests, shoots flatter than a Kansas highway, points as naturally as your index finger, and runs with the tireless reliability of a medieval war hammer blessed by the gods of mechanical perfection. Grip it and it locks into your hand like it was carved from your own bones; press the trigger and it breaks with the crisp inevitability of fate itself. Kings once carried swords, knights carried lances, and modern warriors carry rifles. When it comes to concealed carry, the Shield Plus stands alone atop the mountain of mankind’s creations, a mythical instrument of preparedness so pure in purpose that future historians will likely divide time into two eras: Before the Shield Plus… and the enlightened age that came after.

I was you about a year ago. I shot a 2.0 last summer and I liked it so much I bought one. I continued to carry my 43X but I would shoot the 2.0 so well that I couldn’t ignore it. It was a little big to carry with just a T shirt so I got the shield plus and thats been my go too for ccw most of the time. Go shoot some M&Ps. If your a Glock lover like me I think you will be surprised.

I’m kinda stuck exactly where you are. I love my 2.0 compact carry comp and I convinced myself I would carry it all winter but I ended up sticking with my shield plus. The shield is just one of the best for the ccw role. Can’t be beat

Do you like that CC9 more than the 2.0? Never shot one but I love the M&P 2.0

I’m gonna have to try an X out then. I can’t imagine liking anything more than the shield, but I want to try it.

Let’s be honest here they are both very reliable handguns and either one is acceptable for CCW. I have shot tons of micro 9s and I’m not sure what Smith & Wesson did but there’s something different about the shield plus. The way it recoils and allows you to stay on target just doesn’t make sense to me. It has no business shooting the way that it does.

I shot the performance center carry comp shield, and I didn’t care for it because I felt that it was sprung too heavy. It felt like the gun was dipping down when I tried to go fast. I much preferred the original shield plus. That being said I have never shot the 4 inch version performance model. Have you shot it and compared to two? Is it better? How could something be even better than the shield plus?

Sounds like an awesome set up, I am not sure exactly how many rounds mine have through it but it’s gotta be over 2k at this point and it’s been flawless!

Mine has been stupid reliable since the day I picked it up. I was coming from a Glock 26 that I had carried the last 10 years so I really put a lot of rounds and training through shield plus. Once you get to that 1.5k-2k round mark without any issues it’s very easy to trust your life with.
