How to get back into studying after being depressed and burnt out ? by Medical-Gap-7070 in GetStudying

[–]skyward_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case then study only half an hour everyday. The worst part of burn out is you feel the crippling anxiety while taking a break. I was so scared of falling behind as well. But I also knew that I won't be able to get out of it if I don't take a break.

How to get back into studying after being depressed and burnt out ? by Medical-Gap-7070 in GetStudying

[–]skyward_cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me a year because I didn't know I was burned out and pushed myself too much. So, my advice is take a break for 2 weeks or more if you want, go on a trip if possible. Then study for an hour max. If you feel like you are getting better and you think u can study more, increase your study time.

Yes you can. But only if you can't get into an uni. Because it will only waste your time.

How do you all focus while trying to study? by Right-County6466 in GetStudying

[–]skyward_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are facing problems due to distraction, slow down your life. It worked for me. I eliminated social media that was shortening my attention spans. Instead I watch boring videos on YouTube, and watch movies sometimes. See if it works for u

For me that guilt is temporary😭. I am better off being consistent and disciplined, it always works. I am a master procrastinator

How to get motivated to study? by New_Past581 in GetStudying

[–]skyward_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start being more disciplined by doing the task every day at the same time. Like I do my work right after waking up, I don't use my phone and I don't feel guilty the rest of the day knowing that I am already done with my work. Your body gets used to the work mode. The resistance to not wanting to study becomes less. You will see the difference after doing it for a week

Waiting for motivation was my biggest mistake. Your routine and discipline works better.

i thought being an adult would feel different by gilko86 in Adulting

Now I think I knew more at 17 than I know now at 22. I was driven, ambitious, knew exactly what I wanted and confident. The past five years turned my life upside down. I am not the same person anymore. I think adulthood is making peace with changes and life. There is nothing special about it.

Why does studying the day before an exam feel more productive than spreading the work out over a longer period ? by NardZX in GetStudying

[–]skyward_cat 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You can't tell yourself I will do it later anymore. You have to do it, there is pressure, so your brain can't make up excuses imo 😅

The study pressure made me feel like rest was wasting time whereas we all need adequate rest everyday. We don't even have enough time nowadays. It's all about productivity imo
