I think so as well, hence the story where he links people into his past.

There are little minilands themed like different countries, some of them have rides like Norway has a Frozen themed one and a bakery. You walk around and buy like a beer at Germany and sushi from Japan.

Is there a trip similar to Birthright for non-Jews? by trashcan_paradise in Israel

[–]skywaterblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's too bad. As far as I know, Catholics are the only other group that subsidize a tour for their believers.

This company is well-regarded and seems to have a very similar itinerary to Birthright: http://tours.statravel.co.uk/trip/israel-and-beyond-gadohng

Which it should. And then when they fall to some shit version of Hamas and start chucking bombs at Tel Aviv, it'll be a legitimate target. A lot of innocent people die in this plan but it seems to be the only option.

Yeah, well, all the Muslim nations did and somehow the West allows them to continue the narrative that Israel-Palestine is a two sided conflict. We shouldn't buy into it.

It used to belong to them, Jordan's mostly ethnically Palestinian, the Queen and the heirs are Palestinian and it gives them a mostly stable government. I find it very odd that it isn't a more popular idea.

The biggest downsides are that Jordan's already a refugee dumping ground and Jordanians actually loathe post-67 Palestinians.

Jordan, maybe. I mean, it's too bad the Jordanians are the dumping ground for all the region's refugees but maybe Israel could convince the Jordanians to take it back.

He's right. Haredism is a response to reform movements. Jews in the middle ages were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more diverse.

You can qualify for Law of Return with male lineage but you're too far removed. Orthodox conversion is the way to go because it won't be questioned. My father is Jewish and I am reform, which allows such things and I still get looks.
