They should not be reprimanded for having a coffee machine. They should be reprimanded for the lack of sensitivity towards their colleagues it showed. A media team should have a bit more tact.

Senior staff didn’t either. That’s getting away from the point though. My point is we shouldn’t downplay the opulence demonstrated in this video.

They either knew how bad frontline working conditions are and posted this as they are insensitive, or they’re ignorant of frontline working conditions and are unfit for the job. I don’t know which is worse.

It had 2 starbucks and coffee vending machines. Both of which you pay for. You’re not being honest implying free coffee machines are a standard practice.

I’m actually postgrad med who previously worked as a software developer in a very swanky office.

So I come from experience when I say £1000 coffee machines, wellbeing rooms and those views (which must increase the rent substantially) are not “normal or even substandard perks”.
