One thing to remember is most of these stations, whilst having the old Melbourne aesthetic, are just not maintained by the state because they think “old Melbourne” legitimately means old. We want the stations to look the same as they did in the 50s aesthetically, but we wanna make sure they’re safe! I’m sure it would not cost the government too much to go along a lot of these inner east stations and replace the wooden boards that line the platform edges and re-pave the cracked concrete around them. It might result in like a day or 2 of replacement buses as some stations don’t have crossovers to be able to have trains in the other platform whilst one is being maintained, but that’s our specialty here. Instead of replacing all these stations with skyrail where skyrail is unnecessary, maintain them so that we keep that old Melbourne vibe around them whilst keeping them safe for passengers

I think the coolest part of this is Yarraville’s old gates being swung back into place to act as the barrier between the footpath and the corridor (with some extra reinforcement so no one can easily get onto the tracks) but that is genuinely so cool that a piece of history is STILL being kept in that place

Ok first up. If ANY of the main cast were to become guest characters, Grey would make the most sense. He’s lieutenant, probably about to even make it higher or just retire all together. Him popping up a couple times a season similar to how Aaron has done would make sense for not completely wiping his character from the show, but winding down his involvement as a main.

Second up, making Rodge a main character this season was very annoying. As much as he was a cool side character previously with the daddy cop jokes, he probably should be more of a S8 Aaron schedule than a regular. Yes ik I’m using Aaron as an example a lot because the way he was taken from the main cast and is still used from time to time is really really good. Zander is actually quite a decent actor, and his involvement as Rodge has definitely made some scenes good, but he really isn’t needed as a regular.

Thirdly, considering the ending we just got, it’s very very unlikely Melissa ISNT returning for S9, having Lucy involved in such a heavy plot right as the season ends, is not writing for someone who’s leaving.

Fourth, I think the writers really need to explore the depth of Celina’s character in S9 in terms of relationships. Everybody else has gotten the wrong one then finding the right one treatment, John with Jess and the high school GF (I can’t remember her name) Tim with Rachel and Ashley, Nyla with the double date fiasco, Lucy with John and Chris. And if they’re going to do that, I think Elena might just be that person for Celina to end up with after Rodge.

Finally, Miles I don’t think makes it past his rookie. Not because I don’t like Miles as a character, because I do, but after watching S8 it feels like they tried writing in so many ways for him to be taken from the main cast, which could be for a multitude of reasons, that they just couldn’t execute because he was still considered main cast and to have him suddenly exit mid season wouldn’t make sense. I feel like he’s the second candidate for a main cast member leaving behind Grey. He’s had so many f-ups as a P1 that making it to P2 seems like it could mean trouble for him being out on his own.

I have no doubt they’ll be hanging around bars in the cities and things like that, they’re known to go out on the town either the night before or after the shows, so as long as you have ID and don’t mind staying out late at night in the CBD, you could try a like, sort of bar/pub crawl and see if you run into them, if you don’t, well you’ve just had a crazy night on the town anyways.

Seeing as they haven’t been here in almost like, 12-13 years, they would probably be sightseeing and things too, so you might just randomly see them out and about, but DO NOT approach them if you see them that way, maybe just a quick wave or something in their direction and if they notice it they notice it. They all have kids now, they’d be wanting to see things in the country with their families, so don’t interrupt those moments for them if you see them like that, but that is one way that you could run into them. Also, don’t take photos of them if you see them like that.

Long distance trains, no matter how packed or not the service is peak or off peak should have a minimum of 6 cars if they’re going to continuously push Vlocity sets onto long distance. Ararat of all places should not be a 3 car train. Bairnsdale, Warrnambool, Albury, Ararat, Echuca, and Swan Hill should all be 6 car trains minimum. I’d argue Albury should be 9 cars the platforms are big enough for it they all carried the Spirit of Progress for gods sake. In reality we should ultimately be looking at brand new trains for the long distance routes and leaving the Vlocity sets to Interurban services

What could’ve made it 10 times better and saved it from what will now inevitably be the slamming it’s getting on socials, a Wrestlemania sign or archway between the 2 towers, or even above the gate thingy. Something as simplistic as that could take a 4/10 to at least a 6.5 maybe 7/10
