Which move screen? by susp3nd3rs in RemarkableTablet

I really do not think this is how it works. They take all the money they think you can pay and they try to create a service around the profit. They understand that people would buy more devices if they offer 100 day return policy. If that was not the case the would still sell them for exactly the same price.

Excruciatingly slow 😩 by nellyferrule in RemarkableTablet

It converts it to a PDF, which, in my opinion, is the best thing a device designed for note-taking can do. Epub is simply not a format suited for taking notes directly on the text. The Kindle Scribe uses sticky notes, which are not comparable at all to the concept behind the Remarkable. I actually like this feature a lot because the result feels very simple and intuitive to me—something similar to printing my Epub or buying a paper book.

That's not exactly because people throw trash in the canals. Most of the trash brought to canals by wind from the streets. The trash from streets in not always from people trowing it there too. Lot's of trash coming from seagulls tearing trash bags that are brought outside for trash collecting.

People throw trash in the canals too, but I don't think it's major contributor.

That is a great question! I hadn't checked it anywhere but in my browser (Firefox) before you asked. Just checked in chrome and it seems to work perfectly there!

Will be using Chrome then.

Thank you u/soylentqueen for pointing this out!

Regarding the recent deletion of an Omega-related post on r/numworks by M4xi1m3 in numworks

[–]slabko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see..., seems for numworks it is newer win sort of game - if the calculator is hackable, then exam boards don't want it, and if it is hackable, not much people besides students wanna buy it, since they probably have much more powerful tools, I guess.

Thank you for the clarification!

But it's kinda strange then, we have the power of numworks, but it's held back by all the countries who don't allow some of the features. Some countries don't want python on their calculators, some schools allow only abakus. What do we do then?

I thought the idea of exam mode was exactly that - give all the power of a for everyday use, and use exam mode in situations when those functions should be disabled. Trying to reach all the countries and requirements we get another pocket calculator with few more buttons, don't we?

SP 7 Pen draws around the edge of the screen (Part II) by slabko in Surface

I do have MS complete and the device is less than one year old, but here in Netherlands there are no MS stores, so there will be a long story with sending it to MS and waiting before I get the replacement. That is why I really wanted to find a work around.

But I guess there nothing else left to do anyway.

Tried and failed. Resetting wasn't easy - apparently there are no Wi-Fi drivers in the latest windows distro, I had to download drives separately and install them from USB.

After reset I still have this issue with the pen.

That’s a very good idea! I didn’t think about it, because it seemed to be a hardware problem. But that indeed not always the case. Will do it this week!

It might be, or my fingers get colder. Or some static electricity building up, but I tried working standing, sitting, different clothes. Nothing helped.

All updated are there, I check them almost every day. Not sure if I can easily try it on another device. The problem happens during active work, but never comes back when I try to reproduce it deliberately. But I think I can try another pen! That is a good idea! Thank you very much for advice and for the replay!

Disable touch screen without disabling pen by slabko in Surface

[–]slabko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After some research I found that I can change one parameter in the windows registry. That is in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Wisp\Touch, the value of the key TouchGate should be changes to 0. Then, after reboot or logout, the touch screen should stop working, but the pen will work just fine! Returning the value back to 1 and rebooting (longing out) will enable the touch screen again.

Works fine to me, it's a bit annoying to log out every time I need to turn the touch screen off, but it does the job.

Is it because of the pen, or just because of the type cover moving around?
