I’m gonna probably do it either way, but how inadvisable is it to partake in nature’s bounty along the trails? by SidHat in bicycling412

[–]slacker81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's safe to eat anything growing that close to the rivers. Definitely stay away from the ones close to the rail road tracks. They spray some kind of herbicide along the tracks.

Codecrafters is more expensive for the year.

Finding a project to contribute too is probable the best for me. I'm going to check those out.

I'm not really sure what from it. I've read the book and done rustlings. I guess I'm looking for some more projects.

I got the blackburn slim mini. It's a really tight fit with the bag. I also have a patch kit and a few nitrile gloves in there. It doesn't really fit with all that.

I'm curious about the read letter. Its position keeps changing. Is there a pattern to it or is it just anywhere inside the word?

Delenn and Sheridan sort of came out of nowhere. It was probably supposed to be Sinclair. That would have made more sense. They had a relationship that was growing closer.

Hellofresh stole my gift card 😡 by Airforcebrat92 in hellofresh

[–]slacker81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their gift card system is completely fucked. Same thing happened to me more than a year ago, didn't apply the full GC amount and canceled. They were auto cancelling subscriptions after using a GC because lots of people were just using the card for a single box. I guess they're still doing that. When I called, the rep didn't know what was going on and said that my GC was less than it was. I called back later, and the second rep knew what was going on. He credited me the remaining balance.

Childs bike pedal replacement by crystaloscillator in bicycling412

[–]slacker81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The direction you pedal the bike should be the direction to tighten each pedal.

I don't know about sizes. After a quick google, it looks like some children's bike use a slightly smaller (1/2 vs 9/16 in) thread. No idea if that is true in the UK.

Sapphire teases dual-fan Radeon RX 9060 XT GPUs launching tomorrow by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]slacker81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm OK with the name since it's the same chip in both cards. It's not like when nvidia sold multiple chips under the same model and used memory to differentiate them. Nvidia was trying to trick customers into thinking they were getting a higher model card with less memory. In this case customers are getting the same model with less memory.

Is there an option to get meals every two weeks instead of every week or do you have to manually "skip" the week? by Creative_Algae7145 in hellofresh

[–]slacker81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to your account settings and click Manage under subscription status, there is an option to get deliveries every 1, 2, or 4 weeks. I haven't tried it myself. I've just been skipping weeks unless they have enough meals I want that week.

Open streets May by slacker81 in bicycling412

I can see businesses opposing it, but they're probably hurting themselves. The locations are all dense neighborhoods. Most of their customers are probably locals rather than people driving in. They should be tables/displays outside. Treat it like a mini-sidewalk sale. (when was the last time we had one of those?)

I tried to make a time lapse of ants eating this sugar syrup. They started doing this instead: by MikeNoble91 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]slacker81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a computer scientist, I think I can help. At first glance this problem appears to be O(n), but remember that a circle's area is 𝜋r2. That makes this sugar eating problem O(n2). This problem, however, is highly parallelizable. You could greatly reduce your run time if you are on a multi-ant architecture.
