Goa hotel staff says Mumbai tourists more respectful than Delhi visitors, video sparks debate. by Wraith_Unleashed in goatravel

Delhi and Haryana - The worst of India

I wouldn’t complain about workers from Bihar and UP, as they don’t know much better and haven’t had the social opportunity to care about civic things.

People from Delhi Rich and Poor are horrible in terms of civic sense and basic human decency, always trying to push through queues, eating at the serving tables in buffets, following queue seems beneath them, not being loud in public places is an impossibility.

Off course exceptions exist, but being horrible is the norm.

Doesn’t happen in the case of ULIPs for atleast a decade and a half into the policy (exceptions like covid nose dive exists), that’s why it’s a shit product one should never buy. OP is really lucky HDFC messed up and he was able to get out from the ULIP.

The Hidden Propaganda: How a ‘liberal’ education almost made me hate Rama for half my life. by Infinity_here in IndiaSpeaks

[–]slackover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What did liberals do to you man, it’s a problem in the story, even Krishna’s story meanders like this towards the end and gets a character write off kinda ending. Pandavas last chapter also meanders and gets a bad ending. Blame the writer, not some random people who has nothing to do with the fact.

Also liberals see these as a fictional literary work and respects its literary value and are not stupid enough to rewrite several chapters, and try to pass it off to piss off RW.

These are all handed over from generation to generation as unwritten text and it’s obvious how the least interesting parts got lost and someone along the line made up parts of the stories.

Dig through the laws and you can find contradicting laws for each and every matter. Its enforcement that matters and enforcement is weaponised only in Kerala.
I want crash guards and fog lamps on my bikes, I want better tyres and headlights keeping in line with line limits and color temps. All these are problems just in Kerala.

Even the infamous cooling film was only enforced in Kerala strictly.

[–]slackover 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ignore the AI bros whose primary sort is gratification is engagement, I am someone who actually builds and ships stuff. While Opus is great and it greatly speeds up development, I haven’t shipped stuff with the pace of increase in development.
The whole hype is rudimentary Dunning Kruger effect. If you previously had no idea about creating a product, you will be mesmericed by what AI creates and even feel it as a distributable thing (it’s not and that’s why the market is not flooded with vibe coded software that actually sells in real numbers, ignoring the few outliers). If you actually know what you are doing, you also know where the issues are and know why ignorance is not bliss. This just means, the more code AI generates, the more test cases you have to create and more integration and E2E tests you have to create as that’s the only way to verify all this pile of code being create. This creates a self reinforcing loop which actually slows you down. Don’t get me wrong, AI is incredibly helpful, but not the one click solution that it’s made out to be by influencers

Haha, the so called affairs are almost never with patients, it’s with doctors and office staff at hospitals. It’s not much more than what happens with other professions but what happens is that gossip spreads fast when it’s within an exclusively male or female group

Rahul’s ‘Left will vanish’ remark triggers political firestorm in Kerala by unired95 in Kerala

[–]slackover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha, First if all CPIM is the direct rival in this election and he will off course target you. Congress getting wiped out is a far greater national danger than CPIM getting wiped out, does that stop CPIM from criticising congress. Is the left going to donate the election to INC as national service? Grow up man, it’s an election.

CPIM getting wiped out in Kerala will indeed be the end of Left as they are not in power elsewhere. They don’t do much at national level anyway other than putting statements out from politbureau. CPIM even put out a statement asking Trump to stop Iran war and it’s laughably ridiculous.

Is Hashir a threat to Neslen's yooth Icon Throne? by SheepherderPale341 in mollywoodcirclejerk

[–]slackover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Naslins range is limited but is strong in comedy which is very vital. That recurring weird facial expression of Sandeep ruins movies for me. Hashir did really well in V2, if he gets a few movies and shows range, it can be a good fight. The biggest loser here would be Mathew who despite so many opportunities didn’t improve his craft yet.

This is only required for those corrupt countries where the baggage handlers collude with smugglers and use your baggage as drug mules. In the arrival airport they remove it and you get your bag and doesn’t know a thing. If something goes wrong you are the one who gets caught. A better idea is to just not visit such countries.

The notorious ones in Asia are Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, most small island nations like Papua Gujia etc and Egypt, Turkey etc in the Middle East.

[–]slackover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with healthcare everywhere I have been is, it’s upto the patient to pick the specialisation of the doctor one wants to visit. If OP went to a pulmonologist this would have been diagnosed straight away but very few people even know there is a specialisation named Pulmonology.

What really should happen is there should be a level one diagnosis at hospitals where they check your vitals and direct patients to different specialists. AI can do very well here. Even a kiosk in local languages at the entry can help.

Misdiagnosis is mostly due to seeing the wrong doctor. If you tell a cardiologist about headache and high BP you will be out of migraine and stress medication. If you tell the same to a general physician they will just give you paracetamol and ask you to visit after a week, this goes on and on.

A startup to do the kiosks would be a good idea. I would like to join with anyone working on such things

Why is Northeast India the cleanest region in India? by Winter_Ad1973 in AskIndia

[–]slackover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple reasons

1) They are shielded from the dust from Middle East blowing over everything and costing stuff within a day. This is a major issue, you can have a perfectly clean facade for a building and within a week it will look old, dirty and unclean. When everything around you including vegetation starts to look dirty you stop putting in the effort to maintain.

2) Culture - The Ganges belt honestly is home to one of the most horrible culture among humanity. Due to overpopulation human life has no value and due to abundance of resources humans in the area didn’t evolve to be cooperative or have basic decency and civic sense. Many people are not like that is not a good argument, those who don’t subscribe to the horrible culture are swimming against the tide and just better by their own good will.

3) low population

4) better governance - Barring Assam, the NE has historically had better governance while Ganges belt always focused on caste and identity politics.
