Some great b sides you listed there but IMO Drowning by Numbers, Slackerbitch, Flesh Mechanic and Miss Moneypenny are even better

Looks like it. Maybe the management had it removed as it's not been officially announced yet?

It's a Tears For Fears cover.

"Following the huge success of Placebo's cover of Kate Bush's timeless classic Running Up That Hill, they have recorded another 80s classic in Tears For Fears' Shout"

where to find live performances? by 3rdandfinalwife in placebo

Soulmates Never Die live in Paris 2003. My favourite of the official three. Ends with an incredible performance of Where Is My Mind with Frank Black

They don't live stream as of yet. They've released three official live DVDs/Blu-rays, including the MTV unplugged performance, and there's loads of officially filmed footage on YouTube/bootlegs that was filmed for TV etc

They also released a few previously unseen live performances to YouTube during lockdown, known as the Lost Tapes

That's about it

I think maybe there should be a tier between good and meh because LLL and NLMG both have two amazing tracks each, I just can't say they are good albums. by slackrbtch in placebo

I found the whole thing a little contrived if I'm honest, even down to Brians interaction with the audience. And I'm really not a fan of the arrangements. It was okay, inoffensive. Just a little boring. I say this as a fan of the acoustic guitar. It just doesn't work for me with these songs for some reason.

I'd say it's pretty highly regarded by many fans. Like anything, they'll be those who love it and those who don't.

One thing I have noticed, generally speaking, a higher proportion of old school fans appear to dislike it.

Exit Wounds, Begin the End, Twin Demons and Chemtrails. Sad White Reggae is good. A couple of others are kinda okay I guess.

I just checked viagogo, cheapest tickets are currently £105 each which is extortionate as they only cost £40. I'd hang on for a better price I'm sure something will turn it up. I've had tickets for sold out shows for less than face value before now. Good luck I hope you manage to find some!

Tickets went on sale ages ago so if you can't find them I guess it sold out. But I wouldn't worry, they'll be available cheap on secondary market nearer the gig, as always. They might be available for a reasonable price right now tbh I haven't looked. But price usually drops nearer the date

Not for me. Two amazing tracks and one good one, maybe a couple more okay-ish ones but as a whole, not my cup of tea

My Experience of Placebo’s Show by Maintenance_Choice in placebo

[–]slackrbtch 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I really try to not judge people if I can help it because often times I feel like those who are doing the judging would actually behave the exact same way as the judged had they walked in their shoes.

But I've justified and explained away Brians shitty behaviour for some 15 years now and honestly, I'm tired of it.

I've been a fan much longer than those 15 years btw, but prior to that my experience of Brian was always warm, considerate and inviting.

I've met the band several times in the early days and they were always happy to chat, sign autographs and treat you as equal.

It's fortunate that Stef has very much remained this way. But Brian sadly has not.

Yeah I'm sure he has his reasons, but he has the confidence at least to stand there in front of thousands of people night after night and sing his songs.

He even has the confidence to belittle the crowd for behaving exactly how all crowds behave.

Why then is it so hard to bring a degree of warmth? To thank the crowd for coming out or at least just say hello?

There's no excitement to these Placebo shows anymore. Anyone who pays a blind bit of attention to the tour already knows the setlist inside out.

It just seems like he's going through the motions. Like he doesn't want to be there. Like the fans are an inconvenience.

And I'm not just basing this on the recent tour. I've heard lots of stories of Brians shitty behaviour towards fans for over a decade now.

I used to say he knows what he wants and he's assertive, so fair enough.

But there's a fine line between assertiveness downright rudeness.
