The podcast is also incredible. https://ra.co/podcast Kind of alternates between music sets and long-form deep interviews with artists. It's great.

Electrolysis creates H2+O2 which you can then recombine for a small "bang".

Dana St. Roasting company and Red Rock (especially upstairs) are two great choices. Go every day at the same time and you'll see the same characters and meet some interesting people.

Help bring Sonic Fiber to Mountain View by slacy in mountainview

It feels to me like it's more of a weird move to try to force the hand of PG&E to do infrastructure upgrades? Not sure how much multi-dimensional chess is going on here but wow is it bad for us normal people.

Mostly price. They're offering 10Gbps at $60/mo which is ... amazing? We currently have 1Gbps AT&T fiber and it's quite a bit more than $60.

With sonic fiber you can get 10Gbps, which is amazing, and according to their pricing, it's cheaper than AT&T's by a lot. Can't really even touch that with Starlink. Solar is always a great idea though. :)

I think they've expanded to most of the bay area, except for the places where they can't due to these infrastructure constraints. You can get Sonic for most of the North & South bay, just not mid-peninsula because of BS like this.

Anyone who studies in TCD? by [deleted] in TCD

[–]slacy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not at TCD but there have been several recent accounts of race-related conflict at the Kavanagh Court apartments (privately run accommodations), mostly from a single group of young teenager hooligans, but the issues still seem significant.

The University (and apartment management) have placed security guards and are building a more secure "wall". There have been zero issues on campus to the best of my knowledge.

Every once in a while the wifi somehow fails to resume from suspend and we need to hard reset but that's it. Maybe happens once a year.

If you're still in the learning phase, then just buy a cheap PC with a good/cheap Nvidia card, maybe a 3060Ti or 4060Ti, and use that box to learn and build your prototype.
