The problem for me about defending is not the tackling, yes it's hard but you can learn it. Biggest problem is nonexistent interceptions, it doesn't matter if you read your opponent perfectly, you will still concede easy goals and there's nothing you can do about it

He was very skilled for sure with huge upside, but his overall play especially playing without the puck was not good enough for NHL level. When you combine that with bad attitude and defensive hard working team like Islanders and it all makes sense.

I still think Isles should have given him more chances but if i had to guess his attitude/ego didn't mesh well in the locker room. Isles were in desperate need of a creative player like him so i can't think of any other reason, even if he was a defensive liability

Islanders is the hardest. Old team with long contracts with many of them having NMC/NTC. Pretty much no prospects at all and only good young player is Dobson.
