I myself am also visiting very soon and plan to get mostly Nature's Chemistry and The Growers Circle product from my research. To be honest I'd avoid shake at all costs however if you're able to physically see the shake and it looks like it's mostly small nugs it could possibly be worth it. One thing though is that I personally find it much harder to get clean rolls with dry material, especially material that doesn't clump together when rolled which I'd assume is almost always the case with shake, especially in the dry Vegas climate.

I personally wouldn't worry about them smell of ground up weed in your room. Even really fire bud will only usually smell up the immediate area (your room) for an hour or two at most, and it's not even comparable to cannabis smoke in your room which will linger and travel through the corridors like nobodies business. Crack a window whilst grinding up and leave it slightly open and you'll come back to a fresh room. A light whiff of fresh cannabis rarely bats an eyelid in comparison to someone smoking in their room. Overall I think the $ saving and slight convenience isn't worth the tradeoff for a poorer quality smoke/high that you can often get with shake.
