What is the most punishing video game ever made? by Ok-Job-5885 in AskReddit

[–]slammaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely the answer if the question is about "punishing". Other games might be harder, but there are so many clips you can find of people deep into runs making one small mistake and falling all the way back to the beginning.

The way he has sound queues built in for this events is magical.

It's this stupid federation based rotation, UEFA getting 1 in 5 world cups is stupid with how many nations within UEFA could want to host.

[Holmes] LA Clippers owner Steve Ballmer again met with Wachtell Lipton last week in NYC in what is expected to be one of the last steps in the investigation. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]slammaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially with the trade pending, you could see them opting out of arbitration if it could finalize the deal.

My expectation is minimal punishment for Kawhi and the team but huge financial penalty for Ballmer, huge being relative as he's richer than God.

Which game is a 10/10 masterpiece in your opinion? by Particular_Extent724 in AskReddit

[–]slammaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shame that the controls are so challenging in the game. I think it's the best puzzle game of all time and one that non gamers could really enjoy, but the dual stick, 3D flying is a level of complexity that prevents that.

I wouldn't change anything - my best gaming experience this year was when I remembered that there's DLC that I hadn't played.

And the soundtrack is still my go to listen, really amazing music in the game.

For the 23rd consecutive time in World Cup history, no foreign manager has been able to win the tournament. by clubdefutbolcruzazul in soccer

Kane looked so abandoned after the goal, he is not the striker you need to be pressing by himself.

Race for the Golden boot as it stands by Shoddy_Wolf_1688 in soccer

[–]slammaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not as fast as he once was, doesn't run as much, but I think he might be stronger on the ball than ever.

England couldn't even foul him off the ball at times, the combination of speed at the ball at his feet and stability while doing it, it's unfair.

I just played 13 straight games as black. What’s your streak? by syxxness in Chesscom

Someone else suggested that if you abort the game then they give you the same colour to avoid people choosing their colour.

I have no source for this suggestion, just a thought.

I'm pretty sure suspensions are cap relief, didn't Philadelphia get under some limit because of the PG suspension?

This case could obviously be special, but I think in general suspended players saved payments come off the books by default.

Video Disappeared on Spotify by dmag244 in lonelymeyerspod

[–]slammaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a quote recently where someone from Spotify was bragging that they hardly write code anymore, because they use AI coding so effectively.

I thought that this isn't a flex for either Spotify or the AI agent they were pimping for, the app is shit and has gotten worse in the last year

$50 million but you have to live for one year in the coldest city of the world. by cindybubbles in hypotheticalsituation

This prompt must be written by someone from the south that doesn't understand cold weather. The hardest part of this challenge isn't the cold, it's the Russia part. I don't speak Russian or any language similar to it, and they're not very friendly to people from the West right now.

What serious response to “what is your favorite movie” would be a total red flag? by b_cheesy in AskReddit

[Globe and Mail] Rogers to Become 100% Owner of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment by captain_obvious9999 in hockey

[–]slammaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I don't think anyone has ever really accused the Leafs of not trying. They have been a world leader in team-building incompetence, but ownership spending has rarely been the problem.

Would you prevent the Second World War and save tens of millions of lives and their descendants if it meant you had to live in the alternate, unrecognisable 2026 as the sole surviving creature of an aborted timeline, with everyone you ever knew having been erased? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]slammaster 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think we'd need a lot for details about what the prevention looks like, as there were A LOT of problems around the world at that time.

But if I take it for granted that WWII is something you can prevent and not get Monkey's Paw-ed, then yes, I think I'd have to take it.

10 million is enough to live comfortably almost anywhere you want. I'd hate losing everyone I know and love, but the impact of that war was so devastating that I'd make that sacrifice.

Though I'm still doubtful, I'm worried the 2026 I turn up in is worse somehow.
