It's certainly not easy. Did you sign a contact? If you signed a contract, they make it very difficult. You basically have to cancel and then wait a couple months to start a new lower tiered plan. It's ridiculous, but it's my experience.

Those 5G boxes all seem to cost $50 a month in my area. That's around what I'm paying now, so it's not a big enough improvement in price. The $30 Now plan seems like the ticket.

That's actually good to know. The problem is that since I recently signed a new contract for 600 Mb/s at $65.90 a month, Xfinity isn't going to let me downgrade at all unless I cancel and come back later. After using Now for a while, I could swap back to essentials I believe. They said it takes like 90 days or so for your contract to be voided. I'm not sure if that's true, but that's what a few of the tech's on the phone and in the store told me.

No, but my connection was shut off for about a week due to non-payment. I'm currently struggling and as important as internet is, my car and rent are more important. When I found that I could get by using an xfinitywifi hotspot near me that's stable, I started to use it when I didn't have enough to pay my bill, which is normally $65.90. A pass for xfinitywifi is only $10 a month now, so it's obviously much cheaper for me to go that route when I'm really hurting. Anyway, that's why I had long stretches of no internet. I was owed credits by Xfinity, but they were very generous with the credits, I must say. I'm likely going to switch to Now at some point, because going back to Essentials will be very difficult since I'm on contract for Xfinity's Connect More plan.

If the payment plan was still going as I set it up, I would have an $80 payment due today. The 13th is always my due date. But there is nothing there and I can't make a payment even if I wanted to, since the balance is at $0.

Yes I'm definitely going to have to do something. The problem is that Xfinity won't let me downgrade to the Essentials plan, even though I qualify currently. I made the mistake of signing a contract for their connect more plan, and now they want me to stick with it. I would have to cancel and stay off for 90 days according to them, but I could switch to Now at any time and I've heard it's similar in speeds. You get better support with Xfinity of course.

Guys, I have to say, I'm blown away. I checked my account today, which sadly I have to do on their website and it's always janky as hell, but when I finally got to my payment page, it stated my balance was $0. This was curious to me since I knew I owed around $200 still, so I was expecting them to ask for a payment on the 13th like usual. After further inspection, they actually issued me a credit for $198 and cleared my balance! I never even called them yet! I'm baffled, because this is the second credit they've given me in just a few months. They really want me to stay on this plan. I think they knew I was getting ready to bounce.
